The Buffalo Bills will be at full health when they open their 2023 NFL regular season schedule with a road date against the division rival New York Jets on Monday Night Football. Previously listed after being limited by a back injury at practice last week, safety Micah Hyde has since been removed from the Bills’ injury report. See the full Bills vs Jets injury reports here.

Conversely, the Jets could be missing rising star running back Breece Hall, who is battling a knee injury, as well as offensive tackles Mekhi Becton and Duane Brown, which could complicate matters for Aaron Rodgers as he gets set to make his debut in the Big Apple.

Despite those injury woes, the Jets have managed to remain solid 2-point home underdogs in the NFL odds ahead of Monday night’s matchup at MetLife Stadium.

Micah Hyde Removed Removed from Bills Injury Report

The Bills received a welcome boost at the end of the week, as Micah Hyde was removed from the injury list, clearing the way for him to play on Monday night.

The prospects of the veteran safety making his debut in Monday’s highly anticipated clash against Aaron Rodgers and the Jets dimmed after Hyde saw his back injury flare up last week, forcing the 32-year-old to miss time at practice, and making him the lone name on the Bills’ injury report. This means all of Buffalo’s key players are available to bet in your Bills vs Jets props.

Hyde has not seen game action since Week 2 of last season, and last week’s setback raised fears he may miss additional time. With Hyde now expected to see some action, it may mean Damar Hamlin must wait at least another week until returning to action for the first time since his frightening on-field collapse in a Week 17 date with Cincinnati.

Breece Hall a Game Time Decision

The Jets may also have to wait another week before seeing Breece Hall return to action, as the second-year rusher battles a knee injury. Hall was enjoying an impressive NFL debut last season when he suffered a knee injury in the team’s 16-9 win in Denver in Week 7.

New York Jets Injury Report

Player-Position Injury Game Status
Mekhi Becton – OT Knee, Illness Questionable
Duane Brown – OT Shoulder Questionable
Breece Hall – RB Knee Questionable
Michael Carter II – CB Elbow Unspecified

Hall has publicly expressed confidence about his ability to play on Monday night, and was a full participant in Saturday practice, but a final decision about his status will not be made until game time.

The Jets offensive line could also be hobbled if Mekhi Becton and Duane Brown are unable to go. Also, the late addition of cornerback Michael Carter II to the Jets injury list could prove to be a severe blow. Carter played a key role as the Jets defense emerged as the fourth-ranked in the league last weekend, particularly as this team gets set to face a prolific passer like Josh Allen.

How Could Injuries Affect Bills vs Jets Betting Lines?

Already enjoying good health, the removal of Micah Hyde from the Bills vs Jets injury report is unlikely to have much impact on the Bills vs Jets odds in the final hours leading up to Monday night’s game. However, with so much uncertainty revolving around the Jets and their injured players, things could be different for New York. As of Monday morning the public was backing the underdog Jets with 94% of the ATS bet percentages in the Bills vs Jets public betting.

The absence of Hall takes away a key offensive threat. Indeed, with Hall in the lineup last season, the Jets opened on a 5-2 SU run, with the star rookie tallying scoring runs in each of his final four appearances. In the wake of Hall’s injury, the Jets went just 2-8 SU over their final 10 games, with the Jets generating just four total TD rushes the rest of the way. However, this time around, the Jets enjoy the benefit of also having Dalvin Cook in the backfield, with the veteran rusher likely to receive a boost in touches should Hall be unable to go.

The absence of Becton and Brown could also make life difficult for Aaron Rodgers in his Jets debut, particularly against a Bills pass defense that limited opponents to an average of 195 yards and seven total scoring passes over their final five contests last season.
