  • In the Detroit Lions vs Green Bay Packers inactive and injury reports for Sunday Night Football, the Packers are reporting no injuries to starters
  • Detroit is showing four starters as questionable to play in the game
  • Lions starting RCB Jeff Okudah suffered an elbow injury in practice this week

As they head into their Week 18 Sunday Night Football showdown, the Green Bay Packers (8-8, 8-8 ATS) and Detroit Lions (8-8, 11-5 ATS) are both suiting up relatively healthy rosters.

In the case of the Lions, the biggest hurt could come earlier in the day on Sunday. If the Seattle Seahawks beat the Los Angeles Rams, then the Lions are eliminated from any chance of making the NFL playoffs.

Amazingly, entering the last regular-season game, the Packers are showing nary a starter with an injury designation. Detroit is listing four starters as questionable.

Green Bay is a 5-point home favorite over the Lions. Detroit is 3-17 straight up in the last 20 games played at Lambeau Field.

Kickoff at Lambeau Field is set for 8:20 pm ET on Sunday, January 8. Broadcast of the game is being carried by NBC.

Detroit Lions Injury Report

The biggest worry among the four Detroit starters listed as questionable would appear to be RCB Jeff Okudah.  He suffered an elbow injury late in the week during practice.

Word from Lions head coach Dan Campbell is that FS DeShon Elliott (shoulder) will be playing in Sunday’s game. Likewise, Pro Bowl center Frank Ragnow (foot) has been taking his regular turn in practice all week and it is anticipated he’ll be in the lineup as well.

Fullback Jason Cabinda has been alternating between practicing and taking days off to be resting his ailing knee. The idea of the rest is to assure he’ll be good to go on game day.

Reserve defensive lineman Michael Brockers is also listed as questionable. He’s dealing with an ankle ailment.

Green Bay Packers Injury Report

While there’s no Packers starter listed on the injury report, that doesn’t mean they are all 100% healthy. LT David Bakhtiari (knee/abdomen) has battled injury all season long. He was limited in participation at practice all week.

As well, LG Elgton Jenkins (knee), who’s also been ailing for much of the season, was also a limited practice participant throughout the week.

At the skill positions RB Aaron Jones (knee/ankle) and WR Christian Watson (hip) were also held to limited participation at practice all week long.

The only Packers player showing an injury designation is backup TE Josiah Deguara. He’s listed as questionable with a calf injury.

How Could Injuries Affect Lions vs Packers Lines?

Elliott’s return is a big boost for the Lions. He’s second on the team in tackles (91) and third in tackles for loss (five). Elliott is also an impact player against opposing rushing attacks. He’s showing 34 run stops on his resume this season. The Detroit FS has missed the past two games.

It’s Okudah’s task to cover Green Bay receiver Allen Lazard. Thus any slowdown in his physical capabilities is making Lazard an enticing option in the Lions vs Packers player props.

Brockers hasn’t played since November 20. In fact, he’s been inactive for six games in a row and 10 of the last 11 games. On the other hand, starting RG Evan Brown (knee) is no longer carrying an injury designation.

Packers QB Aaron Rodgers (thumb/knee) followed his usual weekly routine of resting early in the week and going to full practice as game day grew closer.

Deguara’s potential absence might not seem to be a big deal to outsiders. However, close followers of the Packers recognize how much his run-blocking ability has been helping the Green Bay run game during the late-season playoff push by the Packers.
