How to Watch Indianapolis vs New England

Viewers in the United States can watch the Colts vs Patriots game in Frankfurt, Germany by tuning into the NFL Network. Canadian viewers can watch the game by streaming on DAZN.

Colts vs Patriots History

These teams last played in 2022 with New England winning 26-3 at home. The Pats have dominated the Colts in recent seasons having won 9/10 of the past meetings, however, that dates back some time to 2010.

Colts Score 20 Points Again

The Colts won in Carolina last week 27-13 despite Gardner Minshew being just 17/26 for 127 yards and 1 TD. Jonathan Taylor only rushed for 47 yards and Michael Pittman Jr led them in receiving yards with only 64 yards. The Colts took advantage of three Bryce Young interceptions of which two were returned for touchdowns by Kenny Moore II.

The win was Indy’s first in three games. It did extend a streak which has seen them continue to be the only team that has scored 20 or more points in every game this season.

But defensively they’ve given up 20 or more points in 6/9, 30 or more points in 3/4 and 16 or more in 8/9.

The Colts aren’t winning much on the scoreboard, but they have made money for their backers being 5-4 ATS.

Let’s look at some of the Colts NFL team trends this season. Indy is seventh in PPG (25.8), 12th in YPG (344.1), 16th in passing (220.8) and tenth in rushing (123.3).

On the defensive side of the ball, they’re giving up the fifth-most PPG (26.9) and the seventh-most yards (360.6). Their passing defense is 23rd (235) and rushing defense is 24th (125.6).

Bill Belichick 3-0 In International Games

Both teams travelled to Germany on Thursday, so there is no real advantage there, but the Patriots do have the knowledge that head coach Bill Belichick is 3-0 SU and ATS in international games. However, those did come with Tom Brady under center, not Mac Jones. Belichick is also 2-7 for the first time in his career since 2000.

The Patriots are coming off a 20-17 home loss to Washington, despite the Commanders having just traded away Montez Sweat and Chase Young. Mac Jones was 24/44 passing for 220 yards, 1 TD and 1 INT.

Rhamondre Stevenson had 87 rushing yards and a score, but no Patriots’ receiver topped more than 55 yards receiving. He could be a good bet again in the Colts vs Patriots props.

New England has lost two in a row, 5/6 and are just 2-7 as well in NFL ATS records.

Only only one team has scored fewer PPG than the Patriots 15.0 average, and that’s the woeful Giants averaging 11.2. New England has only scored more than 17 points once in their past eight games. Overall in all nine games, they’ve only hit 20 points or more twice.

In total yards on offense New England is 27th (289.4), their passing game is 21st (202.6) and rushing game is 28th (86.9).

They’re a better defensive team, but not by much. They’re 26th in PPG allowed (25.3), 16th in yards allowed (333.4), 21st in passing (232.7) and 11th in rushing (100.8). That defense could be tested though with four starters listed as questionable along the front seven. Cornerbacks Jonathan Jones, Myles Bryant and Jack Jones are also questionable and CB JC Jackson was left at home due to “reliability issues”.

Colts vs Patriots Prediction

So we have completely contrasting stats here when trying to make this week’s Colts vs Patriots picks.

Colts’ games have been wide-open and they, along with Chicago are the highest Over teams this season at 6-3. But their point differential of +9.3 is significantly higher than Chicago’s +4.1.

The Patriots have been more of an Under team. You can’t cash many Overs when only one team is scoring. They’re 6-3 to the Under. But are 2-1 to the Over in their past three.

It’s hard to trust either of these teams this season. Jones put up just 17 points versus a defense just as bad and technically worse than the Colts last week. He’s also 4-15 ATS as an underdog.

Take out two INTs returned for TDs and the Colts may have been going to overtime with the Panthers at 13-13 or potentially would have lost had Young moved the ball better and not cut drives short with INTs.

Then there’s the much talked about prime-time Unders stat that is cashing at a 22-7 clip this season. International games alone have gone 4-0 to the Under. We’ll bet the Under 43 in the Colts vs Patriots odds for this one.
