Okay, the Los Angeles Chargers vs Tennessee Titans matchup on Sunday may be wet, unlike some places. Thankfully, Indianapolis plays in a dome. Read on for this weekend’s Chargers vs Titans picks here.

The Chargers are 2.5-point road favorites in the Chargers vs Titans odds to even their record after losing 36-34 against the Miami Dolphins on Sunday. Yes, it was likely one of the best games of the week. However, Los Angeles knows they need to win some games.

Both teams have some issues but Austin Ekeler was listed as doubtful. Add in Eric Kendricks as doubtful and even Joey Bosa is questionable. Ouch!

Now, NFL betting trends curve a bit toward the road team. An amazing 86% of the bets placed are for the Chargers to hit the moneyline and the ATS has 57% of the bets on Los Angeles too.

The movement is intriguing, but the public is tilting 57% to the under.

The NFL season continues on Sunday from Nissan Stadium at 1pm ET, in a game that can be seen live on CBS.

Chargers Betting Outlook

This game feels almost like a must-win for Los Angeles. However, Justin Herbert and company have to go to Tennessee without two of their better players in Austin Ekeler and Eric Kendricks. With edge rusher Joey Bosa banged up, the Chargers have quite a task ahead of them. Joshua Kelley was able to run for 91 yards on 16 carries and a touchdown. He can sub in for Ekeler at least for a week. Kendricks and potentially Bosa would be a bigger issue.

Miami woke up and stunned the Chargers on Sunday evening in Los Angeles. Tua Tagovailoa threw for 466 yards, three touchdowns, and only one interception. Los Angeles had few answers for the quarterback. Thankfully, Ryan Tannehill is not Tagovailoa.

The Chargers held Miami to 70 yards on 20 carries. Now, they face Derrick Henry, who had an off opening week with only 63 yards on 15 carries. Henry will be ready for this tilt.

Now, the Chargers have their work cut out for them. They allowed 144.2 yards per game last year (26th in the NFL). Derrick Henry has the potential to run for a good deal more than 100 yards on Sunday. It’s what he does best at home for Tennessee.

The Chargers can easily put up 30+ points. It will be more difficult without Ekeler and Tennessee does play better defense at home. Even then, the Chargers’ offensive balance was something last week. The Chargers ran for 233 yards and Herbert threw for 229.

Again, can Los Angeles come close to maintaining that kind of balance on Sunday? It would not be surprising to see the numbers tilt more towards Herbert. The chances he needs to throw for 300+ yards is high for Sunday afternoon.

So, Los Angeles must try to keep it together on Sunday or they are staring 0-2 in the face .

Titans Betting Outlook

On the road, Tennessee had their issues offensively but stayed in their game against the New Orleans Saints. In the end, the Titans lost 16-15 in a nail-biter. They had chances but Ryan Tannehill threw three interceptions which turned a win into a loss.

Mistakes and a poor third quarter derailed Tennessee on Sunday. The Titans were able to slow down the New Orleans rushing attack to a crawl. New Orleans averaged a mere 2.7 yards a carry on their way to a mere 69 yards rushing. Nice for Tennessee!

The Titans’ offense is usually better at home. Again, the Chargers allowed 36 points last week and now are potentially missing several regulars for this Week 2 matchup. This feels like a good recipe for success for the Titans.

Again, this week will be a challenge but the expectation is that Ryan Tannehill makes fewer mistakes.  Tannehill may even find a few more open receivers than usual.

The big concern will be Justin Herbert for Tennessee. Herbert creates play and will be unleashed this week out of necessity.

The Titans hope Derrick Henry gets rolling early and often. DeAndre Hopkins had 13 targets last week. Look out!

Now, Tennessee is ready for action!

Chargers vs Titans Picks

The dilemma with this AFC clash is that one of these teams will be 0-2 more than likely after Sunday afternoon. Los Angeles could be in real trouble here.

Los Angeles may be the one making mistakes this week on the road and not just defensively.

Tennessee knows how bad last year ended and they need wins now.

This game feels like a back-and-forth game where either team could win. It may not be bad to try for the points or the moneyline. Let’s go safe with the 2.5 points Sunday and Tennessee.
