Both teams have some issues but Anthony Richardson’s return gives the home team a nice boost in the Rams vs Colts odds.

Now, NFL betting trends are not all conclusive here. So, the moneyline is an even coin toss while the ATS has 56% of the bets willing to side with the Colts.

The movement is intriguing, but the public is pivoting 64% to the over.

The NFL season rolls onward this Sunday from Lucas Oil Field at 1pm ET, in a game that can be seen live on CBS.

Rams Betting Outlook

This game feels almost like a must-win for Los Angeles. Yes, the Rams managed to lose a game to a bruised and battered Cincinnati Bengals team. Los Angeles made Joe Burrow look good even though he did not feel good. Either way, the Rams lost a close game on the road in Week 3.  Once again, Los Angeles lost the turnover differential at -1 this time.

Los Angeles has not hit the 100-yard mark all season rushing the ball. Worse, the passing game looks like it has regressed every week since that Week 1 breakout in Seattle.

The Rams held two of their three opponents to under 100 yards rushing, but were gouged by San Francisco to the tune of 159 yards. With Anthony Richardson cleared and ready to roll, the Colts’ rushing game could present some problems on Sunday afternoon.

Now, the Rams get a chance to assert their will on the line. Can Los Angeles generate enough pressure to disrupt Anthony Richardson and the Colts’ offense?

The Rams put up 30+  points once. It will be more difficult with how poorly the offense looked in Cincinnati. Los Angeles generated a mere 15 first downs and under 300 yards of offense. Matthew Stafford has two passing touchdowns, four interceptions, and sacked seven times in three games.

Again, can Los Angeles find a way to run the ball? Kyren Williams is more of a grinder and even then, Cincinnati did not have to worry much as Williams only ran ten times for 38 yards.

So, Los Angeles must again try to find that balance or 1-3 could be in their future.

Colts Betting Outlook

On the road, the Colts had their fair share of issues. However, Indianapolis found a way to win two straight games. It was not pretty but Garner Minshew II did just enough to guide the Colts to victory. That included a game-winning drive in the fourth quarter in Week 2.

Zack Moss has been an effective runner while Michael Pittman Jr. continues to surprise via the receiving corps. One concern is the offense when it comes to touchdowns. Anthony Richardson missed more than a game of action yet leads the team with four combined touchdowns. Now, the quarterback must face the Rams without at least two of his linemen.

The Colts’ offense used to be better at home. Again, Indianapolis yielded 31 points to the Jacksonville Jaguars as they fell apart in the fourth quarter. Also, it was the only game where the Colts lost the turnover differential. Now, that is strange but very much true.

Again, this week will be a challenge but the expectation is that Anthony Richardson’s mobility will help out a beleaguered offensive line. Richardson will need to spread the ball out and used a quick-throwing short game often against an aggressive Rams’ defense.

The big concern will be whether Indianapolis can control the clock even a little. Unfortunately, the Colts have not gotten 20 first downs all season. Sunday would be a good time given how the Rams have short-circuited offensively.

The Colts need a healthy Richardson to spread out the Los Angeles defense early on Sunday.

Now, the Colts just have to play smart.

Rams vs Colts Picks

The dilemma with this game is that the spread could easily pivot towards even. It’s already a flip of the coin.

Los Angeles may be the one making mistakes this week on the road and not just defensively.

Indianapolis must play better at home than they did in Week 1.

This game feels like a back-and-forth game where several lead changes are possible. It will not be easy, but the Colts should win in a close one.

Rams vs Colts Pick: Colts -1 (-105) 1 unit

2023 Record: 3-0 Overall:  +3.1 units
