Guard Halapoulivaati Vatai will be missing his second straight game. He was hurt in Detroit’s Week 2 loss to Seattle.

A strong presence as a blocker on offense and in special teams play, LB turned FB Jason Cabinda (knee) has also been ruled out for this game. Starting safety CJ Gardner-Johnson (pectoral) was placed on IR, but the team is hopeful he’ll be healthy before season’s end.
Backup tackle Matt Nelson is also out. He’s expected to undergo ankle surgery and be placed on IR. Safety Kerby Joseph, questionable due to a hip ailment, made a key interception in last season’s 20-16 Detroit win at Green Bay.

Seven-year veteran Graham Glasgow will start again for Vatai at RG. He’s well experienced, having started 92 of his 102 NFL games. However, Nelson’s absence will be felt. He’s a swing tackle for the Lions, backing up on both sides of the line. If Decker is unable to go the distance, Detroit’s OL depth will be tested.
The Lions signed TE Darrell Daniels to the roster to help fill the void left by Cabinda’s absence.
