The Detroit Lions and Jared Goff visit the Green Bay Packers and Jordan Love on Thursday Night Football in an early-season showdown for first place in the NFC North at 8:15 p.m. ET at Lambeau Field. We’re breaking down the top picks from the game in our Lions vs Packers props here.

Goff is sixth in the NFL with 819 passing yards while Love’s 655 passing yards rank 18^th in his first season as the Packers’ starter. Both teams are 2-1 following wins last week as the Lions downed the Atlanta Falcons 20-6 and the Packers rallied from a 17-point deficit to beat the New Orleans Saints 18-17. The over/under passing yards is 255.5 for Goff and 228.5 for Love. The temperature is expected to be 63 at kickoff with a low of 53 being forecast with partly cloudy skies and calm winds, so there should be no weather concerns affecting tonight’s prop bets.

However, Lions running back David Montgomery (thigh) is questionable as are running back Aaron Jones (hamstring) and wide receiver Christian Watson (hamstring) for the Packers.

Lions vs Packers Props #1: Romeo Doubs Receptions

Love has begun forming a connection with Doubs, the second-year wide receiver, during the early stages of the season.

Doubs was targeted a team-high 12 times in last week’s win over the Saints and caught five passes for 73 yards and a touchdown. Love and Doubs also connected for a pair of TDs in the season-opening win over the Chicago Bears.

Through three games, Doubs shares the team lead in targets with rookie wide receiver Jayden Reed as both have 20. Doubs has 11 receptions for 129 yards and three touchdowns and nine of his catches have gone for first downs.

The Lions are a mediocre 19^th in the NFL in pass defense. That should bode well for Doubs, whose 3.5 receptions total comes at the enticing price of +105 in the NFL props.

Lions vs Packers Props #2: Jared Goff Touchdown Passes

In quarterback Jared Goff’s three seasons with the Lions, he has performed better at home at Ford Field than on the road. That trend has continued through the early portion of this season as Goff has a 105.4 passer rating in games in Detroit and a 95.1 mark away from home.

The splits were also significant the previous two seasons. In 2021, Goff had a 99.5 rating at home and 80.7 away. Last year, the numbers were 109.3 and 87.4.

Goff, who has NFL MVP odds of +4500, has thrown interceptions in each of the last two games after going 383 attempts in a row without a pick. That was the third-longest streak in NFL history.

Though the weather should not be a factor, look for Goff to have trouble in Green Bay against a Packers defense that is a solid 10^th in the league against the pass.
