Philadelphia Eagles vs Houston Texans Inactive and Injury Reports for Thursday Night Football

Published:

- The Houston Texans will be without their top two WRs for their Week 9 TNF game against the Philadelphia Eagles
- Brandin Cooks (wrist) and Nico Collins (groin) are both going to out for this game
- Unbeaten 7-0 Philadelphia isn’t showing a single starter with an injury designation in the Eagles vs Texans injury report
As if things were tough enough for the 1-5-1 Houston Texans as they are preparing to face the 7-0 Philadelphia Eagles in the NFL Week 9 TNF Game. The Texans will now be facing the NFL’s last unbeaten squad minus two of their three starting wide receivers.
Nico Collins (groin) was already listing as out. Thursday, the Texans were also ruling out veteran WR Brandin Cooks.
On the other hand, the Eagles are going into the contest about as healthy as a team can be nine weeks into the NFL regular season. Not a single Philadelphia starter is carrying an injury designation.
In the Eagles vs Texans picks, Philadelphia is set as 13.5-point road favorites. The Eagles are 6-1 against the spread in their past seven TNF games and. They’re garnering significant wagering action in the Eagles vs Texans betting splits.
Philadelphia Eagles Injury Report
While it’s true that no starters are dealing with any injuries, that doesn’t mean that the Eagles are getting complete absolution from hurting issues. There is some concern regarding the club’s defensive line depth.
Backup left defensive tackle Jordan Davis ended up suffering a high ankle sprain in Philadelphia’s Week 8 win over cross-state rivals the Pittsburgh Steelers. Expectations are that Davis will be missing 4-6 weeks. He’s been placed on injured reserve.
Eagles placed DT Jordan Davis on Injured Reserve, meaning he’s out at least four weeks.

Already, defensive ends Derek Barnett (ACL) and Janarius Robinson (ankle) are on IR. Barnett is out for the season. Robinson is eligible for activation in time for Philadelphia’s Week 11 game. However, the team hasn’t established a timetable for his return to the lineup.
Cornerback Joshua Scott, who operates as the team’s nickel back in pass defense formations, is out with an ankle injury.
Houston Texans Injury Report
Cooks (354) and Collins (305) are 1-2 on the Texans in receiving yards this season. They’ve caught 83 passes between them. Cooks is leading Houston with 53 catches.
Although a wrist injury is the reason given for Cooks’ absence, the team also announced that the receiver was missing from practice earlier this week due to personal reasons. He is reportedly unhappy at not being dealt to a contender before the November 1 NFL trade deadline.
No change in Brandin Cooks' status, per league sources, not playing tonight against the Eagles after trade deadline came and went without a new team for Texans. Has missed practice for personal reasons for past few days. Situation still unresolved

On defense, starting left defensive tackle Maliek Collins is out with a chest injury. Houston is also ruling out three backups – offensive lineman Justin McCray (concussion), safety Grayland Arnold (quad) and LB Neville Hewiit (hamstring).
Listing as questionable for the game are starting weak side LB Christian Harris (thigh) and backup CB Desmond King (knee).
How Could Injuries Affect Eagles vs Texans Lines?
Minus Cooks and Collins, looking further down the Houston WR depth chart might be advisable when seeking value in the Eagles vs Texans NFL player props.  Philip Dorsett is the only starter playing in the game. Backups Chris Moore and Tyron Johnson should be looking at getting more targets from QB Davis Mills. Moore has accounted for 128 receiving yards this season.
McCray’s absence could be problematic if Houston encounters any injuries among the club’s offensive line starters during the game. He is showing on the Texans’ depth chart as the next man up at left guard, right guard and center.
Harris was a full participant in practice. All expectations are he’ll be able to go on TNF. Rookie Thomas Booker will be moving into Maliek Collins’ role as the starting LDT.
Helping Philadelphia’s thin defensive line depth was last week’s addition of DE Robert Quinn from the Chicago Bears. Look for Marlon Tuipulotu, listing as the third choice at RDT, to be stepping up into a more prominent role in place of Davis.
Eagles tight end Tyree Jackson has been eligible for activation from the Physically Unable To Perform list since October 26. However, expectations are that he won’t be a roster addition prior to Week 10.
