Between the Washington Commanders (1-4, 1-4 ATS) and the Chicago Bears (2-3, 2-2-1 ATS), it’s the latter that is proving to be at least somewhat of a better bet so far during the 2022 NFL season.

Forced to choose between these two mediocre squads as they meet on TNF in Week 6, it’s the hometown Bears that the public is embracing. Chicago is drawing the larger share of both spread and moneyline wagering in the NFL public betting and money percentages for tonight’s Commanders vs Bears game.

The Commanders vs Bears public betting picks are backing the over on the total of 38 points. Splits on both the handle and bets are going steadily with the over at 63% and 54%, respectively.

 

 

The kickoff for the Week 6 TNF game is set for 8:15 pm ET at Soldier Field. The game-time weather forecast calls for cloudy skies, wind of 13 mph, and a temperature of 60 degrees.

This game will be exclusively aired on Amazon Prime as part of a new partnership for Thursday Night Football with Amazon.

Public Liking Bears in ATS Betting Action

Studying the NFL public betting trends, the action is going with the hometown Bears. Chicago is drawing 69% of against the spread handle and 58% of ATS bets.

Chicago is a middling 2-2-1 ATS  so far this season. The Bears are 1-0-1 ATS as a home team and 1-0 ATS as a home underdog. Chicago is among 10 NFL teams this season with a perfect ATS slate as a home underdog. Last season, the Bears were 0-5 ATS as a home underdog.

Last week on the road, Chicago rallied from a 21-3 deficit to cover as 8.5-point underdogs in a 29-22 loss to the Minnesota Vikings.

The opening line for Week 6 TNF in the NFL odds was pick’em and has since moved to Commanders -1. Washington is 5-1 ATS in the last six games against the Bears and 7-3 ATS through their past 10 meetings. At Chicago, the numbers are leaning even more strongly to the Commanders. Washington is 9-0 ATS in the last nine games at Soldier Field.

However, the Commanders are 2-8 ATS overall in their past 10 games. They are 0-4 ATS over the past four games.

Public Defying Logic, Betting Commanders vs Bears Over

Last week, TNF gave us Indianapolis 12, Denver 9. This game can’t possibly go under that total, but it won’t be for trying. The Commanders vs Bears opened with a total of 39.5 points, which was the lowest of any Week 6 NFL game. The line has since shortened to 38 points.
