Rams 8.5-Point Favorites Over Panthers

Despite losing 22-10 at home to the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday and having their record drop under .500, the defending Super Bowl champion Rams are the biggest favorites on the board at 8.5 points at home over the Carolina Panthers (1-4).

Cooper Kupp caught a 75-yard touchdown pass from Matthew Stafford but that was one of the Rams’ few highlights. They were shut out in the second half and have scored one TD in their last nine quarters.

Stafford threw for 308 yards but was sacked five times behind a line missing three starters.

Christian McCaffrey had 104 total yards and a touchdown for the Panthers, but it wasn’t nearly enough. Baker Mayfield was just 20-of-36 passing for 215 yards and had an interception returned for a TD.

Mayfield has four touchdown passes and four picks through five games in his first season with the Panthers.

Commanders vs Bears Even Matchup

Commanders vs Bears isn’t the most attractive of primetime matchups. However, it’s at least considered an even game by the oddmakers as it has opened as a pick.

The Commanders’ loss to the Titans on Sunday ended in frustrating fashion. Carson Wentz was intercepted at the 1-yard line by David Long Jr. with six seconds remaining and Washington trailing by four points.

Wentz completed 25 of 38 passes for 359 yards and two touchdown passes to Dyami Brown. The Commanders, though, were 1 of 11 on third down.

Justin Fields played well in a losing effort for the Bears against the Vikings. He completed 15 of 21 passes for a season-high 208 yards and his first TD throw in 15 quarters while rushing for 47 yards on eight carries.

Highest/Lowest Week 6 Over/Unders

The Bills and Chiefs had a memorable shootout in last season’s playoffs with Kansas City winning 42-36 in overtime at home. The oddsmakers are expecting more of the same this time as they have set the over/under at 53.5 points for the rematch this week in KC.

Buffalo is averaging 30.4 points a game through five games. The Chiefs had a 32.3 average going into their game Sunday night versus the Las Vegas Raiders.

Commanders vs Bears has the lowest total at 39 points. Washington is averaging 18.0 points a game and the Bears 17.2.

Early NFL Week 6 Predictions

Broncos vs Chargers Early Odds & Prediction

The Chargers have opened as 6.5-point favorites over the visiting Broncos on Monday Night Football. That seems a tad high despite Denver’s ugly 12-9 loss at home to the Indianapolis Colts on Thursday Night Football.

The Chargers are 3-2 and the Broncos are 2-3. However, Los Angeles has been outscored by 14 points over its five games.

On Sunday, the Chargers held on for a 30-28 victory in Cleveland as the Browns’ Cade York missed a 54-yard field goal attempt with 11 seconds remaining. Los Angeles won despite an odd decision by coach Brandon Staley.

With the Chargers at their 46-yard line and leading by two points, Staley called timeout before a fourth-and-2 play. He kept his offense on the field and Justin Herbert threw an incomplete pass, giving the Browns a short field with 1:10 left.

Perhaps the injection Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson received in his throwing shoulder Friday will help get his first season in Denver on track.

Pick: Broncos +6.5 (-110)

Cowboys vs Eagles Early Odds & Prediction

The Eagles (5-0) are the last unbeaten team remaining in the NFL. Philadelphia is favored by 5.5 points as they get put the perfect record on the line when it hosts the Cowboys (4-1) in a key NFC East matchup on Sunday Night Football.

The Eagles held off the Arizona Cardinals 20-17 on Sunday on the road. Cardinals kicker Matt Ammendola’s late-game 43-yield field goal attempt missed wide right that would have tied the game.

Jalen Hurts ran for two touchdowns to lead the Eagles. He completed 26 of 36 passes for 239 yards and ran for 61 yards.

The Cowboys’ DeMarcus Lawrence keyed the win over the Rams by returning a fumble 19 yards for a touchdown on Los Angeles’ first possession.

Cooper Rush threw for just 102 yards but is 4-0 as the Cowboys’ QB since replacing the injured Dak Prescott. It’s hard to bet against Rush at this point.

Pick: Cowboys +5.5 (-110)

Bills vs Chiefs Early Odds & Prediction

Arguably the two best teams in the NFL meet when the Bills (4-1) visit the Chiefs (3-1) in the late Sunday afternoon window. The Bills are favored by one point.

Josh Allen connected with Gabe Davis on touchdown passes of 98 and 62 yards as the Bills rolled to a 38-3 victory over the visiting Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday. Buffalo led 24-3 barely more than midway through the second quarter.

Allen wound up 20-of-31 passing for 424 yards, the second-most in franchise history and most in a game ending in regulation. His 348 yards in the first half tied for the second most over the opening two quarters in an NFL game since 1991.

This should be a great game but look for Allen and the Bills to get their revenge for losing at Arrowhead Stadium last January.

Pick: Bills -1 (-108)
