Odds as of October 13th at Caesars Sportsbook.

Over/under for passing yards for Wentz is 219.5 and Bears running back David Montgomery has an over/under of 63.5 for rushing yards.

Oddsmakers are expecting a close, low-scoring game as the line is pick’em and the over/under is 38 points in the NFL odds in a game that will be streamed on Amazon Prime.

The weather forecast calls for a potentially nasty night with a 20% chance of isolated showers, a temperature of 44 at kickoff with a low of 36, partly cloudy, and west wind at 10-15 mph with gusts up to 30 mph.

Commanders Prop: Curtis Samuel Rushing/Receiving Yards

Commanders wide receiver Curtis Samuel gradually became a rushing threat during his four seasons with the Carolina Panthers from 2017-20 before leaving for Washington in free agency.

Samuel rushed 41 times in 2020 for 200 yards and two touchdowns but had just four carries last season when he was limited to five games because of injury.

This season, Samuel has rushed for 51 yards on eight carries in five games for a healthy 6.8 yards an attempt and also has a team-leading 32 receptions for 281 yards and two touchdowns.

Coach Ron Rivera wants a better run/pass balance for his offense. In last week’s 21-17 loss to the Tennessee Titans at home, the Commanders had 41 pass plays and 17 run plays.

Curtis Samuel Game-By-Game Rushing/Receiving Yards

Game Touches Rushing/Receiving Yards Touchdowns
9/11 Jaguars 12 72 1
9/18 Lions 8 99 1
9/25 Eagles 10 61 0
10/2 Cowboys 4 38 0
10/9 Titans 6 62 0

Chicago are 31st in the NFL in run defense and so it seems like to perfect time to break Samuel loose with some rushing attempts to go along with his frequent targets in the passing game.

  • Pick: Curtis Samuel Over 47.5 Rushing/Receiving Yards (-115), 1 unit.

Bears Prop: Justin Fields Passing Yards

The Bears traded up in the first round of last year’s draft to select Fields because they felt he could become a franchise quarterback, but the former Ohio State standpoint has yet to emerge as a star in the NFL.

Fields, though, showed solid signs of growth last week when the Bears lost 29-22 to the Minnesota Vikings on the road and rallied Chicago from a 21-3 deficit to take a 22-21 lead before the Vikings bounced back to get the win.

Justin Fields finished 15-of-21 passing for 208 yards and one touchdown with no interceptions and also rushed for 47 yards on eight carries.

The 71.4 completion percentage was a career-high, as was Fields’ 118.7 passer rating where he set a season-high in passing yards.

Commanders’ pass defense is middle of the pack with its No. 19 ranking among the 32 NFL teams. Look for Fields to build on his performance from last week.

  • Pick: Justin Fields Over 168.5 Passing Yards (-114), 1 unit

Odds as of October 13th at Caesars Sportsbook.

Anytime Touchdown Scorer Odds

The Bears have been able to run the ball effectively as they rank fifth in the league in rushing offense, while Chicago’s 787 rushing yards is its most through the first five games of a season since 1990.

While David Montgomery is considered the Bears’ top running back, Khalil Herbert is their leading rusher this season with 328 yards and three touchdowns on 56 carries.

Herbert’s three TDs lead the team and though that isn’t a big figure, it must be looked at in the context of a Bears’ offense that is 31st in total yards.

Look for Herbert to reach the end zone in what should be a low-scoring Commanders vs Bears matchup.

  • Pick: Khalil Herbert anytime touchdown scorer (+270), 0.5 unit

TNF Prop Bet Record: Week 5. 0-3, Overall: 7-11 (-4.2 units)
