If the NFC West title is still the goal, then the LA Rams have to win on Monday Night Football in Arizona against the division-leading Cardinals.

For ‘Zona — who currently own the NFL’s best record at 10-2 — a win books them a postseason berth for the first time since 2015, when Carson Palmer was their starting QB and Bruce Arians was their head coach.

The Week 14 capper kicks off at 8:15pm ET from State Farm Arena, where the Cardinals are a slight 2.5-point favorite at home. The game can be seen live Monday on ESPN.

Los Angeles Rams Outlook

The Rams snapped an ugly three-game losing skid with a 37-7 demolition of the hapless Jacksonville Jaguars.

Matthew Stafford put together his best game in a month, going 26-for-38 for 295 yards and three touchdown passes. Most importantly, the Rams’ pivot protected the football, which was a big part of the team’s recent struggles.

In his previous three starts, Stafford had thrown five TD passes and five interceptions, and the Rams were outscored 95-54 in losses to the Packers, 49ers and Titans.

LA was able to get their running game going, even with Darrell Henderson on the shelf.

Sony Michel carried 24 times for 121 yards and a score, and that’s a good sign, as Henderson, who’s still dealing with a thigh injury, tested positive for COVID Saturday, and likely won’t be available vs the Cardinals.

That run game allowed NFL receiving leader Cooper Kupp to go off: he had eight grabs for 129 yards and a score. Heading into Monday, he’s got 100 catches for 1,366 yards and 11 TD’s.

Arizona Cardinals Outlook

The Cardinals welcomed back starting QB Kyler Murray and stud receiver DeAndre Hopkins to the lineup in Week 13, after both missed the previous three games with injuries.

They didn’t take long to get back to business, as Murray connectEd with Hopkins for an opening drive score, and the Cards never looked back, routing the Bears 33-22.  Murray also showed his injured ankle was fine, running for a pair of touchdowns.

Arizona will look for a series sweep of LA for the first time since 2014, after they beat up the Rams 37-20 on the road in Week 5. Arizona did what few teams have been able to do to the Rams this year: run all over them.

In all, they ran the ball 40 times for 216 yards. To put that into context,  in the Rams’ other 11 games, they’ve surrendered just 89.9 rushing yards per game, a tiny 3.6 yards per carry average.

Chase Edmonds led the way with 12 carries for 120 yards, but he’s out for this one, placed on injured reserve with an ankle injury. They will have James Connor, though, who ran for 50 yards and two touchdowns in that win.

Rams vs Cardinals Pick

The Cardinals are one of the stingiest defenses in the NFL, surrendering just 18.7 points a game. That’s a big help to their offense that scores at the third-best rate in the league at 28.6 points a contest.

The Rams aren’t slouches either, giving up just 22.5 points per game, while operating the 6th-highest scoring offense in the NFL (28 points per game).

The real question is how real you think the Rams are. LA’s last five wins have come against the Jags, Texans, Lions Giants and Seahawks, who have combined for 14 wins on the year.

In fact, the Rams have only two wins against teams with winning records: Tampa Bay and Indianapolis (who didn’t even get a winning record until last week).

Look for the Cardinals to lock up that playoff berth in primetime.

Pick: Cardinals -2.5 (1.5 units to win 1.31 units)
