  • The New England Patriots and New Orleans Saints lost in the Wild Card round
  • The Baltimore Ravens and San Francisco 49ers are the favorites to win each respective conference
  • There are four teams in the NFC with odds of +650 or shorter to win the conference

The first round of the playoffs knocked out a couple of supposed contenders, which makes the path of each of the respective No. 1 seeds a lot easier. Is there any value betting the Baltimore Ravens and San Francisco 49ers to win the Super Bowl in a prop together? There’s a line on the board that allows you to take them versus the field, so let’s take a closer look.

Baltimore Ravens or San Francisco 49ers vs The Field Super Bowl Odds

Will Ravens or 49ers Win the Super Bowl? Odds
Yes -110
No -110

Odds taken Jan. 7.

Contenders Knocked Out Early

While the New England Patriots and New Orleans Saints did not end up with one of the top two seeds in their conference or with a bye, many expected them to be contenders in their respective playoff bracket. After all, the Pats won 12 games while the Saints won 13. They weren’t supposed to go out this early.

On top of that, when you think about the pedigree, the Patriots are always viewed as a tough out while the Saints were supposed to be focused after getting jobbed in the NFC Championship Game a year ago. While these two failed to deliver on the Super Bowl 54 odds, they’ve made the path for the remaining teams easier.

Ravens Favored to Win AFC

With the Patriots out of the way, the Ravens path to winning the AFC is probably through the Kansas City Chiefs. The Ravens and Chiefs are both favored by over a touchdown in this week’s Divisional Round and if they win, it would set up a big showdown in the AFC Championship Game.

The Ravens are currently at -125 to win the AFC. The oddsmakers view this down to the Ravens and Chiefs as the Chiefs are at +175; the other teams are at +1000 or longer. If you’re betting this prop, it’s fairly clear that you probably want to be choosing one of these two teams as your AFC entrant.

49ers Favored to Win NFC

With the Saints out of the way, it’s no surprise that the No. 1-seeded 49ers are now the clear-cut favorite. They’ll have to go through the Minnesota Vikings this weekend and then either host the Green Bay Packers or Seattle Seahawks. What’s interesting to note, though, is the NFC is a bit more open, according to the odds.

The four remaining teams in the NFC each won at least 10 games and are viewed as capable of representing the conference in the Super Bowl. While the 49ers are at -110 to win the NFC, all four of the teams are +650 or shorter. This is more of a toss-up than you might think.

What’s the Best Bet?

While this prop doesn’t fully entail both the Ravens and 49ers winning their conference, it is worth noting that a $100 parlay of those two winning the AFC and NFC pays $243. This prop gives you a bit more flexibility as one team could fail to win their conference and the other could still win the Super Bowl for you to cash.

At the same time, I see the 49ers and Ravens as the two best teams remaining. I don’t think Kansas City will beat Baltimore twice in one season and I don’t view the remaining three teams in the NFC as better than the 49ers. That being the case, I’ll bet the parlay to win the conference and eye a bigger payout.
