Many sportsbooks are joining in on the fun this year by offering scorigami odds for 2024. You’ll want to claim NFL betting bonuses before laying down any money on this bet.
What exactly is a scorigami and should you bet it? We break it down below, plus tell you how to wager on the scorigami odds for 2024.
What Is a Scorigami Bet In Sports Betting?
A “Scorigami bet” in sports betting refers to betting on whether a given game will end with a final score that has never occurred before in that league’s history.
The term “Scorigami” was coined by football writer Jon Bois in 2016 to describe these unique final scores in the NFL. Due to the specific way points are scored in football, with touchdowns, extra points, field goals, and safeties, there are many possible final scores but many that have never actually occurred.

A Scorigami bet is essentially a novelty prop bet offered by some sportsbooks, usually around major events like the Super Bowl. Bettors can wager on whether the game will end with a Scorigami (a final score that has never happened before) or not. The odds are usually very long, like +2000, because Scorigamis are rare.
There have been some Scorigami scores in Super Bowl history, but they don’t happen often. The last was Super Bowl 48 in 2014 when Seattle beat Denver 43-8. Books like DraftKings offered a Scorigami prop bet for Super Bowl 57 at +2000 odds. Learn how to bet on the Super Bowl online.

Sportsbooks are offering novelty prop bets on whether Super Bowl 58 between the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers will result in a scorigami. The Chiefs are currently favorites in the odds to win the Super Bowl.
The odds of a scorigami occurring are listed at +2000 by DraftKings, meaning a $100 bet would net $2000 in profit if it hits. This is considered a longshot bet given that only three scorigamis have occurred in Super Bowl history – Super Bowl 21 ended with a final score of 39-20, Super Bowl 24 was 55-10, and most recently Super Bowl 48 in 2014 had a score of 43-8.
Super Bowl Scorigami Scores
Super Bowl | Teams Involved | Final Score | Year |
---|---|---|---|
XXI | New York Giants vs. Denver Broncos | 39-20 | 1987 |
XXIV | San Francisco 49ers vs. Denver Broncos | 55-10 | 1990 |
XLVIII | Seattle Seahawks vs. Denver Broncos | 43-8 | 2014 |
Each of these scores was unique at the time they occurred, marking a Scorigami for Super Bowl history. Interestingly, the Denver Broncos suffered a loss in each one.
While a scorigami is unlikely, bettors do have better odds available if limiting uniqueness to just Super Bowl history. A final score that has occurred in a previous Super Bowl but not this one specifically is +450, while a repeat Super Bowl score is heavily favored at -650.
Other types of Super Bowl props available related to the final score include whether the game will end with a score that matches any other previous Super Bowl, which team will score last yet still win the game, if the Chiefs will trail in the 4th quarter but ultimately emerge victorious, and more.
Should You Bet the Scorigami in Super Bowl 58?
While Super Bowl scorigamis are quite rare, a unique NFL final score isn’t totally uncommon. In fact, there were nine Scorigamis during this past regular season alone. The most recent scorigami in the NFL came in Week 17, when the Baltimore Ravens beat the Miami Dolphins 56-19 while clinching the top playoff seed in the AFC.
We’re leaning towards tossing a sprinkle on this bet, as the 49ers have been a part of 17 scorigamis dating back to 2002. The Chiefs, meanwhile, have been a part of six scorigamis in that same time frame. KC had a near-scorigami this season, beating Denver 19-8, a score that hasn’t occurred since 1927.

Factors that increase the likelihood of a scorigami are uncommon two-point scoring plays, like safeties or two-point conversions. According to the Super Bowl 58 Game props, there are heavy -4000 odds of at least one safety and +125 odds of a 2-point conversion attempt.
A Super Bowl scorigami is something fun to root for, so you can’t go wrong tossing $10 on this prop bet. Even a small wager such as $10 would return $200 if successful. With so many different Super Bowl prop bets available, this is one worth a small wager to make your viewing experience more exciting.
