If you’re going to get dunked on, then it might as well be by Jonathan Taylor, and it may as well be as humiliating as you can imagine.

Taylor surpassed his rushing yards total in the first half against the Bills, and subsequently sent us spinning to a winless week. Part redemption and part entertainment, my editors figured to let me have another go at him and these Colts in Week 12.

Again, Indy will be up against a formidable defense in the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but does it matter?

We’ll get you set with a game preview here. For now, let’s earn back some bucks and crack these player props.

Jonathan Taylor Rush Yards

Ok, tell me you didn’t hear this last week: Jonathan Taylor is going up against an impenetrable defense.

The Buccaneers are the latest top defensive squad to take a shot at slowing the NFL’s rushing leader, and they bring solid credentials to the table, allowing a league-best 78.4 yards per game and a paltry 3.8 yards per carry.

They’ve allowed just one 100-yard rusher all year — Bears rookie Khalil Herbert. Other than that, only three backs have even ventured into the 60-yard terrain. The Buccaneers have allowed only three teams to crack 100 yards rushing.

Enter Taylor, who is coming off a 185-yard rushing day against the Bills, with five total TD’s scored. He’s now broken 100 yards rushing in five of his last six starts, while going over 100 scrimmage yards in eight straight contests, with 15 total TD’s.

He might not get 100, but Taylor should surpass that total.

Pick:

  • Taylor OVER 80.5 rushing yards (1.5 units to win 1.31 units)

Tom Brady Touchdown Passes

Monday night’s blowout over the New York Giants was the get-right game the Buccaneers needed after dropping two straight. After struggling with interceptions and inconsistency the last two weeks, Tom Brady found his groove again with over 300 yards passing and a pair of scores.

He gets a Colts defense that’s middle of the pack in yards passing allowed, but tied for the fifth-lowest sack total in the NFL with 18. That should give the ageless wonder plenty of time in the pocket to pick apart the Colts.

There should be some concern, as Indy’s secondary has been stout, ranking fourth in the league in interceptions with 13, but it’s not like they haven’t had their issues.

Russ Wilson, Lamar Jackson, Ryan Tannehill (twice) and journeyman Josh Johnson have all thrown for three or more scores in a game against Indy.

Love the plus-odds on Brady for this matchup, as well as the fact he’s topped this total in his last three games vs the Colts.

Pick:

  • Brady OVER 2.5 TD passes (1 unit to win 1.3 units)

Buccaneers vs Colts TD Scorers

Thanks to our friends at DraftKings, who have set the table here on scoring facts heading into this Week 12 matchup.

You can’t avoid Taylor even if you tried: he’s scored a TD in eight straight games. Thinking of more value? During that run, he’s opened the scoring with a TD in three of those contests.

It didn’t take long for Rob Gronkowski to make his presence felt back in the lineup. He could be prominent Sunday: Gronk has scored at least one touchdown in five of his last six appearances against the Colts.

Another receiver worth eyeing is Chris Godwin. He’s scored a major in three of the last four Bucs games, and he’s been the first TD scorer in two of the last three.

Picks:

  • Gronkowski to to score anytime TD (1 unit to win 1.7 units)
  • Godwin to score anytime TD (1 unit to win 1.05 units)
