A couple teams with playoff dreams will get together Sunday afternoon when the Tennessee Titans (9-4) and Pittsburgh Steelers (6-6-1) get together. Kickoff from Heinz Field is scheduled for 1:00 pm ET with Jim Nantz and Tony Romo on the call. Temperatures are expected to be in the upper 30s with a slight wind and no chance of precipitation.

The Titans are coming into this one with hopes of keeping their once-promising season from derailing. They’ve lost two of their last three but were able to beat the hapless Jacksonville Jaguars 20-0 last weekend. As for the Steelers, they’ve lost three of four after tying the Detroit Lions in Week 10 but are still in the playoff hunt.

The total is resting on 43 which seems about right for two struggling offenses. It’s hard to put any faith in either offense to move the ball if we’re being honest.

Tennessee Titans Outlook

Right now the Tennessee Titans are not where they thought they would be at the beginning of the season. Sure they’re 9-4 and at the top of the AFC South but they are doing it with a patchwork team. AJ Brown is on IR and their crown jewel offensive weapon, Derrick Henry, has been out for over a month.

Still, the Titans were able to get back into the win column last Sunday with a 20-0 beatdown of the Jacksonville Jaguars. It was a much-needed dub given the fact that Tennessee had lost two straight coming into the week. Obviously, the win was over a team that just mailed in the game, but as they say, “a win is a win”.

Pittsburgh Steelers Outlook

Ben Roethlisberger is clearly a shell of himself at this point in his career. We’ve heard the media say it, we’ve heard former teammates say it, everybody is saying it. But, even as a shell of what he once was, Big Ben is still not that bad. Every now and then he’ll surprise all of us with some of the throws he can still make.

Pittsburgh has only won once since November 8 and they took another L last Sunday 36-28 to the Minnesota Vikings. In all honesty, the Steelers’ offense looked anemic only scoring seven points in the first three quarters. Had it not been for a Minnesota fourth-quarter meltdown, they would have been blown out in that game.

Titans vs Steelers Best Bet

This game is a tough one to call. On one hand, both teams stink right now and have huge holes. But, we’re still talking about two very savvy coaches so both sides will be ready even if they aren’t at full strength. I think we’re looking at a dogfight this Sunday.

I keep landing on the Steelers in this game and it’s because the Titans are very limited offensively. It’s hard to win games when you can’t score points. I get that they hung 20 on the Jaguars but that was the Jaguars. That team quit on their coach. And against the Steelers, they may need more than 20 points. Keep in mind this same Titans team lost to the Houston Texans just a couple short weeks ago. For that reason, I think Pittsburgh is the side to back in this one.
