Lions vs Chiefs Early Odds & Prediction

The Lions are the favorites to win the NFC North after winning eight of their last 10 games last season to finish 9-8 while just missing the playoffs. Detroit hasn’t been to the playoffs since 2016 or won a division title since 1993.

Meanwhile, the Chiefs are coming off their second Super Bowl title in four seasons after rallying for a thrilling 38-35 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles in Arizona. Kansas City is favored to win its eighth straight AFC West championship.

The Lions and charismatic coach Dan Campbell are the flavor of the month in the NFL. However, let’s pump the brakes on the hype train as Detroit doesn’t seem likely to slow down quarterback Pat Mahomes and the defending champs.

Pick: Chiefs -6.5 (-115)

Dolphins vs Chargers Early Odds & Prediction

Two teams with potentially explosive offenses meet on Sunday in Los Angeles

The Dolphins got into the playoffs last season with a 9-8 record then lost to the Bills 34-31 in the wild-card round. The Chargers also were eliminated in a wild-card game, infamously blowing a 27-0 lead in a 31-30 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars.

This should be an interesting game between fourth-year quarterbacks Tua Tagovailoa of the Dolphins and Justin Herbert of the Chargers. Tagovailoa seems poised for a big season if he can stay healthy and makes the Dolphins live dogs in this matchup.

Pick: Dolphins +2.5 (+100)

Bills vs Jets Early Odds & Prediction

Rodgers’ first game with the Jets is the overarching storyline of Week 1 after being acquired in an offseason trade following an 18-year run with the Green Bay Packers.

The Jets are counting on Rodgers to be the quarterback who can finally lead them to the playoffs after failing to reach the postseason since 2010. While the Jets haven’t finished atop the AFC East standings since 2002, the Bills are coming off winning the division each of the last four years.

Rodgers always enjoys the spotlight, and it will be shining brightly on him in this matchup. The underdog is 8-1 ATS in the last nine games of this series and Rodgers will help the Jets continue that trend.

Picks: Jets +2.5 (-110)
