Week 13 was supposed to be a momentum builder, but we picked up where we left off last week – namely, with just one win out of three – with some “I can’t believe this just happened” moments.

So, fine, the Steelers, who almost never score first, score first. But we were right on track with Phil Rivers out-completing Big Ben, until a third string running back suddenly became unstoppable. C’mon man!

Week 14 presents poster boys for NFL offense and defense squaring off as the Rams play the Bears.

If you’re just looking for the moneyline, spread, and game total, see our Rams vs Bears Odds, Picks, and Predictions. Let’s get to the props that will make you a winner.

Prop #1: The Opening Score Will be a Touchdown

Prop Odds
First Score TD -185
First Score FG or Safety +160

*All odds taken 12/8

Coincidentally, the only game the Bears have played this season that hasn’t started off with a major to start the game was Week 11, when I picked this same bet and Cody Parkey kicked a field goal to kick things off. Ya, awesome.

The Rams don’t dabble in field goals much either to start the scoring. Los Angeles has had just four of 12 games begin with a 3-pointer. Oddly enough, they’ve surrendered the first TD of the game six times, while the Bears have scored six opening majors.

I’m not reluctant delving into this bet again, and you shouldn’t either.

Prop #2: Jared Goff Will Puncture Bears Secondary

Will Goff Throw for At Least 331 Yards? Odds
Yes +114

This is more an ode to the brilliance of Rams head coach Sean McVay at getting his quarterback the right plays to exploit any team, than a diss to the Bears defense.

This is going to be an excellent chess match.

Since surrendering 301 yards to Aaron Rodgers in Week 1 – and just days after acquiring Khalil Mack – the Bears have allowed a 300 yard passer just once this season. And of all people, it was Brock freaking Ossweiler to do it.

Most notably, they limited Tom Brady to 273 yards through the air and Kirk Cousins to 246. But other than them, let’s just say it’s not a murderers row of QBs they’ve been hunting down.

The Bears have sacked an opposing QB three or more times in seven different games this season. And while they’re too talented not to get home at some point, Goff will do damage.

Prop #3: Todd Gurley Will Find the Endzone

Will Todd Gurley Rush For at Least One  TD Odds
Yes -200

Gurley looked like the destructive weapon we had come to know and opposing defensive coordinators came to fear last week, when he ran for 132 yards and a couple of scores to sink the Lions.

Prior to that, two of his previous three games he was held to under 70 yards rushing – and they came in two wild shootouts against the Saints and Chiefs.

Chicago again has been stout against the run. They’ve only given up over 100 yards in a game four times this year. Last week’s loss to the Giants was just the second game all year they allowed a player to go for over 100.

1n 12 games, Gurley has topped 100 six times, so he can be contained, but not from the endzone, where he has been held out of paydirt just three times.

The Bears have allowed just four rushing majors this year. This week will mark the fifth.
