Bills Big Favorites over Steelers

The 3-1 Bills are 13.5-point favorites over the visiting Steelers (1-3) after rallying for a 23-20 victory over the Ravens on Sunday in Baltimore.

Tyler Bass kicked a 21-yard field goal as time expired as the Bills came back from a 17-point deficit. Buffalo’s Jordan Poyer intercepted a Lamar Jackson pass in the end zone with 4:09 remaining to keep the score tied at 20-all.

Allen threw for 213 yards and one touchdown for the Bills. He was also picked off once.

Steelers rookie quarterback Kenny Pickett made his NFL debut, but it wasn’t enough to keep from Pittsburgh from losing to the New York Jets 24-20 at home.

Pickett replaced Mitch Trubisky to start the second half and ran for two touchdowns while completing 10 of 13 passes for 210 yards. However, all three incompletions resulted in interceptions.

Chargers Slim Road Picks vs Browns

The Chargers (2-2) are the smallest favorites on the board as two-point favorites over the Browns (2-2).

Los Angeles beat the Texans 34-24 on Sunday in Houston. Justin Herbert threw for 340 yards and two touchdowns and Austin Ekeler had three TDs as the Chargers built a 27-7 halftime lead then held on.

Ekeler had a 14-yard touchdown reception and scored on runs of 10 and 20 yards. The Chargers scored on five of their first six possessions.

The Browns tried to rally in the final minute, but the threat ended when Jacoby Brissett was intercepted by Dee Alford.

Nick Chubb rushed for 118 yards and a touchdown in his home state. His high school team watched from the stands.

Highest, Lowest NFL Week 5 Over/Unders

The oddsmakers expect Raiders vs Chiefs to be a shootout with an opening total of 50.5 points. Las Vegas is averaging 24.0 points a game and Kansas City went into Sunday night’s game against the Buccaneers at Tampa Bay with a 29.3 scoring average.

The lowest over/under is 40 points for 49ers vs Panthers. San Francisco, which hosts the Los Angeles Rams on Monday night, is scoring just 15.7 points a game and Carolina is averaging 19.5.

Early NFL Week 5 Predictions

Falcons vs Buccaneers Early Odds & Prediction

The Buccaneers have opened as eight-point favorites over the visiting the Falcons after taking a 2-1 record into Sunday night’s matchup with the Chiefs.

The Falcons evened their record at 2-2 with the win over the Browns. Alford’s interception sealed the win after Younghoo Kim’s 45-yard field, his third of the game, with 2:28 broke a 20-20 tie.

Rookie Tyler Allgeier led the Falcons with 84 yards rushing on 10 carries. Caleb Huntley and Cordarrelle Patterson each ran for touchdowns.

Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady looked out of synch in the first three games. Perhaps missing more than a week of training camp for personal reasons put him behind.

Nevertheless, the Buccaneers being just eight-point favorites in this game feels somewhat light. Look for Tampa Bay and Brady to handle Atlanta and Marcus Mariota.

Pick: Buccaneers -8 (-110)

Cowboys vs Rams Early Odds & Prediction

The host Rams (2-1) are 6.5-point favorites over the Cowboys.

While the Rams play Monday night, the Cowboys downed the Washington Commanders 25-10 on Sunday at home. Cooper Rush threw for two touchdowns while again subbing for the injured Dak Prescott.

One of the TDs went to Michael Gullup, who was making his season debut. The other went to WR1 CeeDee Lamb.

The Rams have a winning record despite allowing 70 points in their first three games and scoring 61.

Look for the Cowboys, even with Rush at quarterback, to keep it close against the inconsistent defending Super Bowl champions if not win outright.

Pick: Cowboys +6.5 (-114)

Bengals vs Ravens Early Odds & Prediction

The AFC North rivals are both 2-2 going into a game in which the host Ravens are favored by 3.5 points.

J.K. Dobbins scored two early touchdowns, but the Ravens couldn’t put the Bills away as they blew the big early lead.

Jackson had difficult passing on a rainy day. He finished with 144 yards and one touchdown but was also intercepted twice.

The Bengals beat the Miami Dolphins 27-15 on Thursday night in Cincinnati. Joe Burrow had 287 yards passing and two touchdowns.

This figures to be close matchup, so taking the Bengals is the way to go.

Pick: Bengals +3.5 (-105)
