A baker’s dozen of NFL games are still to be played in Week 7 and some massive names are dealing with significant injuries.
The latest Week 7 updates put Jets running back Breece Hall, Broncos cornerback Pat Surtain II, and Rams receiver Puka Nacua among the notable players carrying a “game “Questionable”: designation. San Francisco has several key players ruled out, while Tampa Bay’s Baker Mayfield is expected back despite a questionable tag while Baltimore’s Lamar Jackson has been ruled out again.

Lamar Jackson (Ravens): Ankle, Out
Jackson was limited in practice due to an ankle injury and is officially out for Week 7 after missing Baltimore’s last two games. Tyler Huntley started both contests in Jackson’s place, passing for 201 yards in a Week 5 victory over Atlanta and 165 yards in a Week 6 loss to Cleveland (183.0 YPG; 1-1 record). With Jackson starting this season, the Ravens are 3-1 while averaging 241.8 passing yards per game.
The line has swung six points: from Ravens -3.5 to Bengals -2.5. A loss would put the Ravens in last place in the AFC North ahead of clashes with division-leading Buffalo and Jacksonville in the next two weeks.
Baker Mayfield (Buccaneers): Thumb, Expected Back
Mayfield logged full practice participation after missing three consecutive games with a thumb injury, leaving him on track to return Sunday despite carrying an questionable final game designation. Rookie backup Jalon Daniels started all three games in Mayfield’s absence (Weeks 4-6), throwing for 148, 189, and 164 yards (167.0 YPG) as Tampa Bay went 1-2. Mayfield has yet to win a game for the 1-5 Bucs.
The Bucs are 2.5 games behind the Panthers in the NFC South, but they have yet to play a divisional game. Despite the lousy start, the Bucs have plenty of time to right the ship, and their quest begins with a trip to face Carolina.
Breece Hall (Jets): Quad, Questionable
Hall is officially questionable following limited practice reps as he works back from a quad injury that sidelined him for Weeks 4 through 6. Braelon Allen started all three games in Hall’s absence, posting rushing totals of 59, 116, and 78 yards (84.3 YPG, 1 TD) while New York (2-4 overall) went 1-2 over that stretch.
The Jets are solid favorites against Miami this week, a key opportunity for the Jets to inch back toward .500. The Jets will host the Raiders next week.
Puka Nacua (Rams): Calf, Questionable
Nacua did not practice this week and is questionable with a calf injury. He previously missed Weeks 2 and 3 due to a hip injury, a two-game span in which the Rams (2-4 overall) went 1-1 while relying on Tutu Atwell, Demarcus Robinson, and Jordan Whittington to absorb target volume.
While Nacua is expected to play, the Rams have been hit with a slew of injuries, perhaps none more important than Nacua’s running mate in Davante Adams. With Nacua out, Adams caught 15 passes for 332 yards and two touchdowns. While he had more modest production without Nacua in the lineup, his loss will force the Rams down the depth chart and make life easier for defenses.
Pat Surtain II (Broncos): ankle, questionable
Pat Surtain II is questionable for Week 7 with an ankle injury and was limited in practice. If he cannot play, Denver would have to adjust its coverage plan against Arizona. Shockingly, Denver is 41-42 in regular-season games started by Surtain since 2021 and 7-1 without him.
Denver is a 4.5-point favorite at Arizona this week, a stepping stone for the Broncos to get to 5-2 and keep within striking distance of the Chiefs in the AFC West. The Chiefs and Broncos play again next week with massive division ramifications for a November 1 game.
Deebo Samuel Sr (49ers): hamstring, out
Deebo Samuel Sr is ruled out for Week 7 with a hamstring injury after also sitting out Week 6, shifting target shares to George Kittle and Christian McCaffrey. Veteran Mike Evans is also out, leaving the receiver corps to Brandin Cooks and Christian Kirk.
The 49ers already have three wide receivers on IR (Demarcus Robinson, De’Zhaun Stribling, and Ricky Pearsall), and that figure does not even account for the Brandon Aiyuk circus, a player who is still technically employed by San Francisco. That said, you – yes, you reading this – have a better shot at suiting up for the Niners than Aiyuk does this season.
Nick Bosa (49ers): knee, out
Nick Bosa is ruled out for Week 7 with a knee injury after missing practice, leaving Keion White, rookie Romello Height, and Mykel Williams to shoulder primary edge-rushing duties. Bosa last played in San Francisco’s Week 2 win over Miami.
As mentioned in the Samuel blurb, the 49ers have been hit hard with injuries necessitating IR designations. Bosa, under normal circumstances, would have been put on IR with a designation to return, but the 49ers have already used up their allotment of slots. Bosa is expected to return soon, though.
