An extremely rested St. Louis Blues squad travels to Seattle to take on the Kraken Wednesday night at 10:00 pm eastern time. The Blues are the lone team to have played just once this season, while their counterparts have one victory in four contests.

In their only game, the Blues blasted the Blue Jackets 5-to-2, while Seattle has struggled to keep the puck out of their net, surrendering five goals in three of their four games to limp to a 1-2-1 record.

St. Louis Blues Betting Analysis

It’s hard to delve too deeply into the nitty gritty for the Blues, having played just once. In that game, however, they were tied 2-2 with Columbus entering the third period, before a three-goal outburst sealed the deal. Star forward Vladimir Tarasenko led the way with a pair of goals.

In the off-season, St. Louis took care of two important pieces of business – signing Robert Thomas and Jordan Kyrou to matching eight-year, $65 million dollar extensions. Last year Thomas was second on the team with 77 points, while Kyrou was fourth with 75 points.

The Blues ended last regular season on a 14-2-2 tear, won the first round of the playoffs over Minny, before succumbing to the eventual Cup champ Avalanche in the second round.

Seattle Kraken Betting Analysis

It hasn’t been pretty in the early going for Seattle, not that anybody expected they’d be a juggernaut in their sophomore season. They’ve managed one win, a 4-to-1 triumph over division rival LA, but they’ve dropped the other three (one in OT), allowing five goals each time.

It’s not as if they don’t have some intriguing young players, though, as 2021 second-overall pick Matty Beniers has been turning heads. He’s currently the betting favorite in the Calder Trophy odds race for top rookie.

In this past draft, they added more talent, with forward Shane Wright as the fourth selection, when it was expected he might wind up going first overall.

In free agency, they inked forward Andre Burakovsky from Colorado, and he has two goals and three helpers in four contests. They also agreed to a pact with goaltender Martin Jones, and he has their one victory, allowing just one goal. However, in his next start he was pulled, yielding five goals in two periods.

In their inaugural season, things didn’t go so smoothly for the Kraken, unlike the Vegas Golden Knights, who went to the Stanley Cup final in their first campaign. The struggles were echoed in the matchup between these two squads, as the Blues won each time by a combined total of 11-2.

Blues vs Kraken Pick

Though they weren’t great on either home or road ice last year, the Kraken were at least competitive at Climate Pledge Arena. The Blues were also better at home, compared to the road, though they were solid in both, as they were the fourth-best team in the West.

Blues vs Kraken Same-Game Parlay Picks

Pick Odds
St. Louis Blues Puck Line +165
Blues Over 3.5 Goals +104
PARLAY ODDS  +200

Last year the Blues were the third-highest-scoring team in the NHL, averaging 3.77 goals/game, plus they had the second-best power play. The Kraken have given up five goals in three of their four contests thus far this season. They also sport the fourth-worst penalty kill.

Lean on experience and the stronger team in this one, especially since the Blues took all three battles last year.

Pick: St. Louis Blues Puck Line (+165), Blues Over 3.5 Goals (+104)
