There are times I like to spice up my bets for some extra juice, and I’m doing just that for this Sabres vs Bruins Game 3. I’m going on a limb and picking Boston to win by multiple goals at a +225 price tag. They’ve won four of their last six duels with Buffalo at TD Garden. On three of those occasions, the Bruins have won by two or more markers.

Widening the scope shows that the home squad has taken four of its last six duels in friendly confines. In three instances, it was by at least three goals.

The game within the game is afoot between Sabres head coach Lindy Ruff and Bruins HC Marco Sturm, as coaches are wont to do to gain an upper hand. I’m banking on the veteran Bruins squad led by David Pastrnak to goad the inexperienced Buffalo team into penalties to get them off their game.

In the series, B’s goalie Jeremy Swayman has a sparkling .931 save % and 2.54 GAA, while the other crease is very uncertain. Ruff indicated Alex Lyon may start, after he replaced Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen in Game 2 (four goals allowed on 20 shots). In the series, UKL has a crooked .825 save % and 4.19 GAA.

In limited career postseason action, Lyon has gone 1-2 in a trifecta of starts with Florida three years ago (five games overall), with an .895 save % and 3.39 GAA. I believe the Bruins will pounce on whatever netminder they face and win by at least two markers.

Geekie led the Bruins in scoring in the regular season, with 39 markers. He’s also found the back of the net in seven of his last eleven battles against Buffalo, and has seven goals in his last six games overall.
