On Saturday, Central Division rivals will clash in Game 4, with the Dallas Stars fighting to put the Minnesota Wild in a 3-1 series strangehold. The NHL Playoff Bracket sees the Stars two wins away from advancing to the second round for the fourth straight campaign.
Online sportsbooks are siding with Minnesota to rebound, however, in the Game 4 NHL odds, despite Big D taking Game 3 by a 4-3 margin in double overtime.
Puck drop for this Western Conference grudge match is scheduled for 4:30 pm CT / 5:30 pm ET from the Grand Casino Arena in Saint Paul, Minnesota. TBS/truTV/HBO Max will handle broadcast duties across America, while Sportsnet will carry the game for Canadian viewers.
My favorite Stars vs Wild Game 4 prediction is that both squads will get huge names from their Star (no pun intended) players to score a ton of goals. These two teams are incredibly evenly matched, and I wouldn’t be surprised if either emerged victorious in the Stanley Cup odds. In this series, at least six goals has been totaled up each time, and I expect that to continue.
Our SBD formula agrees with me, tabbing Dallas to win by a total of 3.45-3.30. In six of the last seven meetings, the two Central Division stalwarts have put up six or more markers.
After dropping the first duel by a pitiful 6-1 edge, Dallas bounced back to claim Game 2 by a 4-2 margin. They raced ahead 2-0 in Game 3, only to see Minny snipe three successive times. Matt Duchene tied the affair midway through the third, and nobody scored (through countless overtime power plays), until Wyatt Johnston did it 12:10 in double OT.
My other lean is Jason Robertson scoring an anytime goal. He’s lit the lamp in six straight and seven of eight versus the Wild. Overall, he’s tickled the twine eight times in the last eight outings (and added four helpers), and was tied for fourth in the NHL this regular season with 45 snipes. I picked him to light the lamp in Game 3, and he did it, so I’m doubling down. If you want to parlay Over 5.5 goals and Robertson scoring, that pays out at a reasonable +230 clip.

Bet365 is the preferred book if you’re interested in wagering on this game, as both Minnesota (-135) and Dallas (+115) currently are offered as best prices, though those will change as puck drop approaches. It’s an even 6 goals for O/U on bet365, but DraftKings has it at 5.5 if you’re confident that six or more goals will be scored, like it has in the first three games of this battle.
As for the NHL public betting splits, it looks like backing Minnesota is the play, with 60% of the bets on them and 78% of money plunked down on the Wild. The public likes the under six goals total, with 75% of bets and money placed on that wager.
