  • Donald Trump loves a good conspiracy theory
  • He doubled down on the Obama Birther conspiracy and suggested that Ted Cruz’s father helped assassinate JFK
  • But what about the Flat Earth Theory? Can Trump be persuaded into thinking the Earth is a disc?

Donald Trump has a soft spot for wacky conspiracy theories. He spearheaded the Obama Birther movement, demanding to see the 44th President’s birth certificate and accusing the Hawaiian of being secretly born in Kenya. He’s also suggested that Ted Cruz’s father played a hand in the JFK assassination, questioned whether Justice Antonin Scalia really died of natural causes, and has rambled on about the supposed link between vaccines and autism.

But what about the greatest conspiracy theory of all: could Trump be convinced that the Earth is actually flat?

Well, actually, the Earth is an oblate spheroid, which is an ellipsoid of revolution obtained by rotating an ellipse about its shorter axis. But don’t take my word for it, go to Wikipedia and see for yourselves!

I’m no scientist, but I’m currently Googling images of “oblate spheroids” and they look pretty round to me. So go ahead and dump some easy money on those -10000 odds. Part with a few dollars and pray that nuclear Armageddon doesn’t literally flatten the Earth.

If the man can stand at a podium and declare that he won the popular vote when he clearly didn’t, then we can’t rule anything out.

This is a President who believes that the crowd at his inauguration was larger than Obama’s, even when there’s photo evidence of the contrary. Show him a picture of a globe and who knows, maybe he’ll say it’s flat.

These are strange odds for very strange times.
