Expect the inauguration of Joe Biden as 46th President of the United States to look nothing at all like recent ceremonies. The combination of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic in the USA and real fears for the safety of those participating will ensure that Americans are going to get a scaled-down event.

That doesn’t mean that there won’t be opportunities to wager on the inauguration. Sportsbooks are out with several prop bets covering both Biden’s inauguration ceremony and the entertainment portion of the celebration.

Wil Biden stutter? Is he going to wear a mask? What color will Lady Gaga’s hair be? Which song will Jennifer Lopez perform?

Those are just some of the betting options. The inauguration program is slated to begin at 11:30am ET on Wednesday, Jan. 20th.

Kamala Harris, the favorite in the 2024 election odds, will be sworn in as Vice-President shortly before noon. Biden should be sworn in as President at noon, as is tradition.

Biden Will Trip Over Some Words

Biden worked as a young man to overcome a stutter. He reportedly recited Irish poetry to help with his speech therapy.

That being the case, he still stumbles over words, or is forced to pause in mid-sentence. Republicans tried to use this against him during the election, claiming his life-long stammer was a sign of the onset of dementia.

Anyone affected by a stutter succinctly recognizes the challenges facing Biden as a public speaker. He certainly will struggle to get some words out during his speech. That’s why the price is so short on this wager. However, it’s a virtual lock to pay off.

Pick: Over 0.5 words (-400).

Mask Up, Everybody

Biden wants to ramp up the battle against COVID-19 during his first 100 days in office. The latest data is showing 24 million cases of the virus and 398,000 deaths from COVID-19 across the USA.

One of Biden’s measures is going to be to step up mask enforcement and to seek to get everybody to wear a mask during his first 100 days as President.

He’s consistently worn masks during his speeches. He can’t very well make a request that everyone wear a mask and then not wear one during his inauguration speech.

Pick: Biden Will Wear A Mask (+600).

Lady Gaga and Jennifer Lopez Inauguration Odds

Lady Gaga’s primary hair color Odds
White/Blonde -200
Brown +375
Blue +400
Pink +500
Red +1200

Under 120 seconds -120
Will J-Lo sing a cover song? Odds
Yes -200
No +150

Odds as of Monday, Jan. 18th.

It’ll Be Blonde, And That’s No Joke

Lady Gaga will perform the Star Spangled Banner prior to the inauguration ceremony. This isn’t a concert, or the Super Bowl halftime show. They’re welcoming someone to America’s highest office.

Lady Gaga knows style, but she also carries herself with class. She’s not going to try out some wild hairstyle for the inauguration.

She’s been blonde in all her appearances of late, and she’ll be a blonde when she sings on Wednesday:

Pick: White/Blonde (-200)
