  • The New York Times unearthed some of President Donald Trump’s tax returns
  • The documents showed that he’d lost over $1 billion in the span of a decade
  • Yet Trump’s odds of winning the Presidency remain unchanged at -130

While running for President in 2016, Donald Trump boasted that his support was so strong that he could shoot someone in the middle of a crowded Fifth Avenue in New York City and it wouldn’t adversely impact his popularity.

The man may have a point.

The New York Times uncovered Trump’s tax returns from his days as a private businessman. Documents displayed that Trump utilized loopholes to avoid paying taxes. It also showed that his businesses lost over $1 billion from 1985-94.

You know what wasn’t impacted by these revelations one iota? Trump’s chances of winning the Presidency again. A cross-section of the latest 2020 US Presidential Election odds list Trump as the favorite at -130. His worst odds at any sportsbooks are even money.

Trump Does What He Wants

He’s lived a life of privilege. He’s never answered to anyone.

Why did anyone suspect that serving in public office was going to suddenly turn a narcissist into a person capable of feeling empathy?

Trump cheats and doesn’t pay his bills. He obstructs attempts to stop his misdeeds, and he lies like an area rug. He chases away quality advisors, replacing them with sycophants.

His public statements reveal a man who clearly has no idea what he is talking about.

And he gets away with it.

He’s a product of the dumbing down of modern American culture. Reality TV stars are the new ruling class. America’s version of royalty.

If you’ve seen the Mike Judge film Idiocracy, you know what we’re talking about. If you haven’t see the movie, don’t bother.

Biden Their Time?

Who’s going to stop Trump?

Congress? The Senate does his bidding.

The justice system? Attorney-General William Barr is Trump’s lap dog.

The Democratic Party? Probably not, but sadly, this dysfunctional bunch may be America’s last hope to save democracy.

It’s essential that the Democrats find a viable candidate from their clown car full of wannabes. With over two-dozen in the running, it looks more like an open tryout for a semi-pro football team than a race for the highest office in the land.

The candidate given the best chance by the sportsbooks to win the nomination is Joe Biden. That makes sense.

Biden carries with him some of the Barack Obama credibility.

He might not be the best candidate the Democrats have, but he may be the candidate with the best chance to derail the Trump train.
