The Formula 1 paddock heads to Austria for one of the shortest races on the calendar, but don’t mistake fewer laps for an easier DFS slate.

Lewis Hamilton finally snapped Andrea Kimi Antonelli’s five-race winning streak in Barcelona, earning his first victory as a Ferrari driver. Outside of Antonelli’s remarkable stretch, this season has been incredibly difficult to predict. It feels like a different team finds race-winning speed every weekend.

This weekend, the story has been the weather.

Temperatures have climbed throughout practice and qualifying, and that could make reliability one of the biggest factors over Sunday’s 71-lap race. With that in mind, we’re leaning on teams that have consistently shown they can bring both cars home.

I’m on vacation this week, which is usually a great excuse to avoid work.

Unfortunately, I forgot my laptop charger at home, paid an overnight shipping fee I’d rather not discuss, and somehow convinced Amazon to deliver a replacement to a secluded cabin in the Tennessee mountains.

Now I’m writing this while keeping one eye on the laptop battery and the other on the black bears wandering through the yard.

The least this lineup can do is pay for the charger.

Our lineup starts with a Ferrari stack, and that isn’t just because Hamilton is coming off the first Ferrari victory of his career.

The heat has been a major storyline all weekend, and if Sunday’s race turns into a survival test, Ferrari is one of the teams we trust most. Ferrari has quietly become one of the most reliable teams on the grid. Mechanical issues haven’t been the problem. Self-inflicted wounds have been. Looking at you, Chuck. When both cars stay out of trouble, Ferrari has consistently brought them to the checkered flag. That’s exactly the type of constructor profile we’re looking for this week.

Antonelli remains the centerpiece of the lineup despite starting fourth. Our model projects him alongside George Russell as the strongest fantasy play in the field. After winning five consecutive races before Barcelona, there’s no reason to abandon ship after one race.

Leclerc complements the Ferrari stack perfectly from the front row. Starting second gives him race-winning upside potential while maximizing the value of pairing him with the Ferrari constructor.

F1 DFS Picks: Value and Teammate Bonus Plays

Arvid Lindblad slides into the Captain spot because he checks every box we’re looking for in a value play. Starting 10th, he’s only one position behind teammate Liam Lawson, giving him an excellent opportunity to collect the teammate bonus while still carrying legitimate top-10 upside.

Esteban Ocon is our other salary-saving target. Haas has quietly fielded one of the more reliable cars on the grid, and Ocon starts close enough to teammate Oliver Bearman that the teammate bonus is well within reach if strategy breaks his way.

That leaves Valtteri Bottas.

At $3,200, we aren’t asking Bottas to challenge for a podium…or even points. We simply need him to survive and outperform his salary. Starting 20th also creates position differential upside if reliability becomes the storyline many expect.

You’ll also notice we’re avoiding the bargain-priced Audi entries.

That’s intentional.

Audi has treated routine racing incidents like catastrophic engineering failures all season. With temperatures expected to punish every component on the grid, we’ll gladly pay a little more for Ferrari and Haas while letting someone else find out whether Audi’s reliability has improved.
