  • Atlanta is next on the NASCAR schedule as the Quaker State 400 is set to run on Sunday, July 10th, 2022
  • Several contenders include  Kurt Busch, Ross Chastain, Kyle Larson, and Kyle Busch.
  • Below are the Quaker State 400 odds and betting trends ahead of Sunday afternoon’s race

NASCAR goes just outside Atlanta, Georgia, for race number 19 of the 2022 season. The race comes from Atlanta Motor Speedway. The 1.54-mile quad oval course certainly is something else. The “super speedway” like course has co-favorites this week including Ross Chastain and Ryan Blaney in the Quaker State 400 odds. Can Ryan Blaney finally win a race this week or will someone like Chastain or Chase Elliott win for a third time this season.

This is one week after the Kwik Trip 250, where Tyler Reddick delivered a long-shot win for us at +2500.

Let’s dive into these Quaker State 400 odds and figure out which drivers are the best bets.

Ryan Blaney Is a Co-Favorite at Atlanta BUT…

Blaney is a co-favorite according to Barstool at +1000 for this week’s Atlanta race. He has won the Spring race and has three top-five results in his last five appearances. The Team Penske driver has only led 5.3% of the laps but he seems to be in the right position at the right time on this track. Considering how close the No. 12 Ford has come to victory this year, Blaney is bound to breakthrough eventually.

Currently, Blaney stands as a favorite everywhere else too and is +1000 at Caesars. Kyle Larson is listed as a favorite at Caesars at +900. Some even odds exist on Caesars Sportsbook, as even Kyle Busch is +1000 along with a slew of drivers. It is a theme this week as Atlanta can feature a lot of cautions and a lot of crazy.

Now, what occurs Sunday afternoon in Hot’Lanta?

The idea is that Ryan Blaney has all those stage wins. Historically, Atlanta has been kind to him and even with the risk, the Ford is worth a look.

Year Race Winner Pole Position Most Laps Led
2021 Kurt Busch – Chip Ganassi Racing Chase Elliott – Hendrick Motorsports Racing Kurt Busch – Chip Ganassi Racing

The race is 260 laps. This is truly a chaotic race for the Next-Gen car on a hot track with super speedway-like tendencies.

Can Ross Chastain Win at Atlanta?

Sports bettors like Ross Chastain and he is another one of those co-favorites at Atlanta. The TrackHouse Racing driver still lurks in the NASCAR Cup Series odds. Chastain is third in points just 35 behind Chase Elliott. Furthermore, Chastain carries the speed on tracks like this. It becomes more of a question can he stay on the track Sunday?

Now, could the race come down cautions and pit strategy? Yes, That and how well Chastain handles those 28-degree banked turns will play a pivotal role.

Quaker State 400 Predictions & Picks

This 1.54-mile track will be intriguing like it was in March this Sunday.

The weather expects to be muggy and unsettled on Sunday with temperatures rising well into the 80s. The last thing to keep an eye on is drivers like Kurt Busch and Kevin Harvick. Their ability to drive fast at Atlanta Motor Speedway should not be a surprise. Also, the Busch’s seem to excel at this track better than most.

Finally, for top-ten picks, there are Tyler Reddick and Daniel Suarez. There will be more picks closer to Sunday’s race after qualifying on Saturday. Aric Almirola and Erik Jones will again be fast too. The big question remains do the longer shots have more value again like in March?

The stage format is 80-80-100 for laps.

Here are our best bets:

  • Top Pick: Ross Chastain to Win (+1000)
  • Other Contenders: Kyle Larson (+1000), Kyle Busch (+1200), Ryan Blaney (+1000)
  • More shots:  Kurt Busch (+2000), Aric Almirola (+3500), Erik Jones (+4000)
