The second Champions League semifinal features a colossal matchup between the Spanish and Italian champions when Barcelona hosts Inter Milan in the first leg on Wednesday, April 30th. Kickoff is set for 3 pm ET.

But despite the magnitude of the match and the persistence it took to get to this point, recent form has Barca and Inter trending in opposite directions, making for an intriguing matchup. Below, I break down the moneyline, over/under, and BTTS odds going into Wednesday’s match, before covering the projected lineups and my best bets for the match.

Barcelona vs Inter Milan Odds (April 30)

BARCELONA vs INTER MILAN – LEG 1
BAR: -163DRAW: +320INT: +400
BAR to Advance: -225INT to Advance: +162

Barca are -163 favorites to win on the three-way moneyline, with Inter getting +400 to pick up the away victory. Odds for a draw are at +320. Over 2.5 goals is a considerable favorite at -175, while the under is at +137. Odds on “both teams to score” is sitting at -163, whereas a “no” for BTTS is getting +120.

Barcelona maintain their place as favorites to win the competition, getting Champions League odds as low as +220 following the quarterfinals. That alone suggests the task at hand is all the more difficult for Inter, who at +650 are the new UCL longshots, but it shouldn’t discourage the squad, either, seeing as how Inter were a much longer +1000 ahead of their defeat of Bayern Munich in the previous round.

Then again, the Nerazzurri are falling out of form at the worst possible time. Though they finished the UCL League Phase in fourth place with a 6-1-1 record before knocking off Feyenoord and Bayern in the knockout stages, Inter are actually on a three-game losing skid, sandwiching a 3-0 Coppa Italia loss to rivals Milan between a pair of 1-0 losses to Bologna and Roma that have cost them a potential repeat Serie A title.

In comparison, Barcelona are looking nearly unbeatable at the moment. The Blaugrana have lost once in 2025, to Borussia Dortmund in their UCL quarterfinal return leg after going up 4-0 in the opener. It stands to reason Dortmund would come out firing with hopes of advancing, but aside from that blemish Barca are 23-4-1 since the start of the year.

That run includes multiple victories over Real Madrid, Athletico, and Benfica, as well as thumpings of Girona, Valencia, Betis, and Sevilla, putting Barca four points clear of Real at the top of the La Liga table with five matches remaining in their domestic season.

Projected Barcelona vs Inter Milan Lineups

Barcelona (4-2-3-1)Inter Milan (3-5-2)
Wojciech Szczesny (GK)Yann Sommer (GK)
Alejandro Balde (LB)Alessandro Bastoni (LCB)
Inigo Martinez (LCB)Francesco Acerbi (CB)
Pau Cubarsi (RCB)Yann Aurel Bisseck (RCB)
Jules Kounde (RB)Carlos Augusto (LWB)
Pedri (LCM)Henrikh Mkhitaryan (LCM)
Frenkie de Jong (RCM)Hakan Calhanoglu (CM)
Raphinha (LW)Nicolo Barella (RCM)
Dani Olmo (AM)Denzel Dumfries (RWB)
Lamine Yamal (RW)Lautaro Martinez (ST)
Robert Lewandowski (ST)Marcus Thuram (ST)

Both squads will likely run with rote starting lineups they’ve used throughout the competition, save for two high profile absences, one for each team.

Barca striker Robert Lewandowski is still fighting a hamstring injury suffered late in a match against Celta Vigo on April 19th, that’s caused him to miss time against Mallorca and the Cop Del Rey final against Real Madrid. We’ll likely see Ferran Torres start in his place.

Barcelona will also be without defender Alejandro Balde (hamstring) and midfielder Marc Casado (knee), players who had both appeared in ten of Barca’s UCL matches this season.

As for Inter Milan, they’ll be without defender Benjamin Pavard, who picked up an ankle sprain in last Sunday’s 1-0 loss to Roma. It’s possible that Pivard will be replaced in the starting eleven by Yann Aurel Bisseck, who came on for Pavard against Roma, or Matteo Darmian, who’d drop from the wingback spot in favor of the recently returned Denzel Dumfries.

A question mark remains above Inter striker Marcus Thuram, however. Though he’s missed the last three matches with an adductor injury, he did travel and train with the team on Tuesday. It’s possible he gets the start on Wednesday, but if he’s not quite ready to go, expect Marko Arnautovic to take his place instead.

Barcelona vs Inter Milan Predictions & Best Bets

  • Barcelona to Win (-163)
  • Both Teams to Score (-163)
  • Raphinha 3+ Shots (-225)

I’m taking Barca for the outright win of the semi-final’s opening leg. First, they’re clearly the in-form team: it bears repeating that Barcelona has lost once in their last twenty-eight games, while Inter has dropped three in a row, all shutouts. I’m finding it really hard to bet against the current Champions League favorites on Wednesday.

But despite how Inter have surrendered their Serie A to Napoli, it’s also why I expect the club to mark the scoresheet, even if its in a losing effort. If their shot at a domestic title keeps slipping away (their Serie A title odds have gone from -298 to +308 in less than a month), it likely means Inter will embrace a “ride or die” attitude when it comes to their Champions League campaign. That means scoring goals; but for our purposes, just one will do.

And to spice things up just a little, I’m also going with Raphinha to take 3+ shots. The Brazilian winger is averaging 3.67 shots per game in the UCL, taking three or more attempts on net in nine of twelve matches. Add those three best bets together and you’ll build yourself a nice SGP of +300 at Bet365!
