Although it’s only seven games into the campaign, it’s been a rather ugly start for the Nerazzurri. They’ve won four times and beaten on three occasions, falling just one defeat shy of their entire loss total from 2021-22. But, Inter is just five points off the top at the moment and there is lots of time to turn things around. Plus, their Serie A odds still remain at +300, third-best in the top flight.

Udinese completely ran riot on Simone Inzaghi’s side on September 18th, firing three past Samir Handanovic. Inter looked extremely vulnerable at the back and have actually conceded the most of any club currently in the top-10 (11 times).
On a more positive note, their previous success versus Roma is a good sign as they search for a much-needed result. Romelu Lukaku remains out due to injury, while midfield mainstay Marcelo Brozovic is also unavailable after picking up a knock on international duty with Croatia.

Roma is in slightly better shape than Inter in the standings, sitting a point above them with a 4-1-2 record. While Jose Mourinho’s men are allowing just one goal per match, finding the back of the net is a problem thus far in 2022-23, netting a mere eight times.
That was very much the case against Atalanta, despite enjoying a boatload of chances. The Giallorossi had 21 total attempts but just five found the target. Considering Roma was on home soil too, this fixture didn’t turn out how they envisioned it. To make matters worse, the visitors’ one shot on goal found its way past keeper Rui Patricio.
Thankfully, Mourinho has a fairly healthy squad at his disposal for Saturday’s clash, with the exception of long-term absentees Georginio Wijnaldum and Rick Karsdorp. Paulo Dybala should return to the fold as well, but he’s likely to feature as a substitute.

Neither side is playing great football at the moment, but there are a few important things to take into consideration. Inter is a perfect 3-0-0 at the San Siro this term, but since the beginning of last season, they’ve never won without Brozovic running the show in the engine room.
Nevertheless, between the hosts’ flawless record at home and against Roma, I like them to pull one out here. Put some money on the under as well, despite history. Goals aren’t being scored at a premium by Inter or Roma right now.
