Leader Manchester City can strike a major blow against its nearest Premier League title rival when it hosts Chelsea on Saturday.
Certainly, Pep Guardiola’s City team is already in a powerful position with a 10-point lead over Thomas Tuchel’s second-placed outfit.
Furthermore, City is on a current stretch of 11 straight league wins in which it has scored 31 times while conceding only nine goals.

Odds as of January 14 at Barstool Sportsbook
Chelsea, meanwhile, has been stuttering and has drawn no fewer than four of its last five EPL matches – with one win during that spell.

Unusually Wide Price for Chelsea
Moreover, Chelsea’s indifferent spell is reflected in the fact that it is priced at +420 – certainly much wider than might usually be expected.
The game kicks off at the Etihad Stadium at 7:30 am ET with the draw rated at +275.
Basically, it is fair to argue that the title race in England will be more or less over if City wins again – with third-placed Liverpool 13 points behind the leader.

There is certainly a desperate need for Chelsea to avoid defeat in this clash.
Given these odds, a prop selection could prove more fruitful on this occasion.
There is certainly a desperate need for Chelsea to avoid defeat in this clash. And it has failed to score on only one of its last nine EPL matches.

So the price of +375 for the option – tie and both teams to score – looks attractive.
That analysis is further supported by the fact that City has hit a massive 13 goals in its last two home EPL fixtures.
Firstly, it humiliated Leeds United by 7-0. Then secondly there was a 6-3 win against Leicester City.

Meanwhile, Chelsea has not kept a clean sheet in its last eight visits to the Etihad.
However, it has not lost a league match since its second EPL defeat of the season at West Ham United on December 2.
City has also lost only twice in this campaign.
But it is the fact that Chelsea has also drawn seven times which has caused it to slip so far behind in the title battle- with City drawing only twice and winning 17 times.
Carabao Cup Boost for Blues
Chelsea has this week been given a lift by the fact that it has reached the EFL Carabao Cup final after a 1-0 defeat of Tottenham Hotspur in its last outing on Wednesday.
That handed the Blues a 3-0 aggregate semifinal win.
It had previously scored a 5-1 home win against non-league side Chesterfield of the National League in the FA Cup third round last weekend.
City also took a break from EPL action in its last game and was a 4-1 winner at Swindon Town of League Two in the FA Cup.
Its most recent EPL result was a narrow 2-1 win at Arsenal.
Guardiola’s team notably plays without a recognizable center-forward.
Chelsea, meanwhile, drew 2-2 at home against Liverpool on January 2.

But it is the fact that its goals are so liberally shared around which accordingly makes it the league’s leading scorer with 53.
Raheem Sterling and Bernardo Silva each have seven EPL goals this season. Furthermore, Riyad Mahrez has six. And both Kevin De Bruyne and Phil Foden have five each.
These teams met in last season’s Champions League final with Chelsea winning 1-0 in Porto.
City Won In Last Meeting
However, City was a 1-0 winner at Stamford Bridge in the EPL last September.
That ended a run of three straight wins for Chelsea in meetings between these sides.
Significantly, that run of wins included a 2-1 victory for Chelsea at the Etihad Stadium in the EPL last season.

Meanwhile, City will be without key forward Mahrez who is absent playing for the Moroccan national team at the Africa Cup of Nations.
Chelsea has also lost Senegalese first-choice goalkeeper Edouard Mendy to that international tournament.
To sum up, then, City is in stupendous league form. But Chelsea must make a stand to keep alive its slim title hopes.
That suggests it could force a draw and it also seems highly likely that both teams will find the net.
