Two of the 2026 World Cup co-hosts start their campaigns on Friday as Canada hosts Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) in Toronto at 3:00 pm ET, and the USA hosts Paraguay in Inglewood at 6:00 pm ET.

Even with Alphonso Davies doubtful, Canada are sizable moneyline chalk against a BiH side that is likely to be without talisman Edin Dzeko, who is doubtful with a shoulder injury. The USA is a heavy home favorite against Paraguay, who will be missing standout forward Julio Enciso.

I submitted both of Friday’s matches to Sportradar’s computer prediction model. The table below summarizes the A.I.’sWorld Cup picks for June 12. Under the table, find the computer’s rationale for both wagers.

A.I. reasoning: “Jesse Marsch has built a stubborn tactical shape. Canada arrives unbeaten in their last eight matches (3-5-0); in their last three, they recorded a 2-0 win over Uzbekistan, held Tunisia to a scoreless draw, and drew 1-1 against Ireland. When Canada takes a 1-0 lead at home, they go on to win 60% of the time, effectively freezing the game and controlling the rebound battle in the midfield.

While Bosnia presents a resilient challenge, averaging 2.5 goals per match away from home, playing a motivated co-host without top attacker Edin Dzeko drastically lowers their ceiling. Buying the Canada to win on Kalshi at 53¢ offers a -113 American odds equivalent, edging out the -120 juice found at traditional sportsbooks.”

A.I. reasoning: “Unlike the blank slate of the Canada match, there is historical precedent to handicap this fixture. Team USA and Paraguay met in November 2025 where the United States secured a 2-1 victory. Looking under the hood of that matchup reveals just how effectively the Americans controlled the transition game.

USA dominated the ball with a 57% possession rate. More importantly, Mauricio Pochettino’s squad operated with high offensive efficiency in the final third. They outshot Paraguay (9-6) and generated five shots on target compared to Paraguay’s two, constantly crashing the box and winning the possession battle in the paint.

With Paraguay missing the dynamic attacking production of Julio Enciso, they lack the fast-break personnel needed to punish an aggressive high line on the counter. Grabbing the USA moneyline via a 50¢ Kalshi contract translates to +100, even-money odds, offering exceptional plus-money value compared to the -110 standard market price.”
