Coco Gauff vs Aryna Sabalenka Prediction

This will be the fifth meeting between Gauff and Sabalenka, and their first meeting of 2023. Gauff currently holds the head-to-head edge, leading 3-1. Gauff won their most recent contest that happened at the National Bank Open last summer, and is 2-0 on outdoor hard courts.

Both players eased through the first two rounds at the tournament, and saw themselves get tested in the round of 16. Gauff went up against Rebecca Peterson, and the match had to go the distance in order for the American to secure the win. Gauff ended up winning 6-3, 1-6, 6-4.

Sabalenka saw herself needing the full three sets as well in order to book her spot in the semifinals. She went on to defeat Barbora Krejcikova 6-3, 2-6, 6-4.

This will be an interesting match to watch. Although Gauff holds the winning record against Sabalenka, the Belrusian is playing her best tennis at the moment. The 24-year old won the Aussie Open earlier this year, and has held the World No. 2 spot.

The reality is either player could take the win here, it’ll just be a matter of who’s able to navigate the conditions the best, and come out of the gate strong. Look for the match to go the distance.

Sakkari vs Kvitova Picks: Over 2.5 sets (+118)

Maria Sakkari vs Petra Kvitova Odds

Player Spread Moneyline Total
[7] Maria Sakkari -2.5 (-112) -162 Ov 22.5 (-108)
[15] Petra Kvitova +2.5 (-118) +134 Un 22.5 (-126)

This is as close of a match as one can get. Sakkari and Kvitova are no strangers to one another. The Greek is favored at -162, but is she the best bet in this match?

Maria Sakkari vs Petra Kvitova Prediction

This could be lucky match number eight for Kvitova, where she is able to even out the head-to-head. Right now Sakkari has a winning record against the Czech, 4-3, which includes a 3-2 record on outdoor hard courts.

The last time Sakkari and Kvitova saw each other was in the round of 32 at last year’s Indian Wells. Sakkari won that meeting in straight sets. Can she do it again?

This week Sakkari has had to battle her way through. All three of her matches have taken three sets to determine a winner, which is a little out of character for the 27-year old. Kvitova has have two of her three go the distance as well, but she most recently upset third seed Jessica Pegula to earn her spot in the semis.

Sakkari has managed to win the last eight of nine matches in the desert, but those matches haven’t been easy to win. This might be Kvitova’s opportunity to in fact even out their head-to-head and snag a spot in the semifinals. Right now the Czech is playing smarter tennis than Sakkari, which might prove to be the difference in this match.

Sakkari vs Kvitova Picks: Kvitova (+134)
