Wimbledon Women’s Singles Odds, Picks, Futures: Swiatek, Rybakina, Sabalenka Top Favorites

The third Grand Slam of the year is here, with Wimbledon, and with the draw having been announced on Friday, we’re all set to get underway. As mentioned, we have the heavy favorite, Swiatek leading the way, as well as 2022 champion Elena Rybakina.

The draw this year should make the first couple opening rounds very interesting. The talent in the top players in women’s singles seem to be closer than ever, and with many players having found success on grass in the past, this should be an exciting Grand Slam from start to finish.

Wimbledon Women’s Singles Odds

No surprise here that Swiatek is the heavy favorite heading into Wimbledon. The 22-year old is coming off her fourth Grand Slam win after winning the French Open in June. Since Wimbledon odds have come out, Swiatek has been the favorite, and continues to lead the way.

The Favorite

For a moment there it seemed like we might not see Swiatek compete at Wimbledon due to illness. Last week she pulled out of a semifinal match due to a fever and possible food poisoning. But she seems to have a made a quick recovery, and has assured everyone that she is ready to go in London.

Let’s take a look at her draw. Swiatek should have it fairly easy in the early rounds, but it could get tricky for her down the link. In her quarter, she has American Coco Gauff, who has had her share of upsets and come from behind wins, as she makes every match she plays interesting.

And of course, Venus Williams. Not someone who’s even listed in the top 20 odds to win, but one of the best to play Wimbledon, having won the tournament five times. When she decides to compete in the Grand Slam, she should never be counted out.

The Draw

Out of all the quarters drawn, the one most people should and will be talking about is the third quarter.

Consisting of two finalists from last year, a two-time Wimbledon champion, and a handful of other Grand Slam winners make up this quarter. Elena Rybakina, Ons Jabeur, and Petra Kvitova all lead the way.

There’s bound to be a few upsets early on, and just because of how the draw has happened, some of the best will have their runs ended early.

Kvitova is one of the main that stands out here to be the player that makes it out. The 33-year old is so dominant on grass, and holds a career almost 76 winning percentage on the court, one of the top amongst active players.

And of course, Rybakina, the reigning champion is someone that will have a lot of eyes on her. She specifically has a bit of a tricky draw, opening up her tournament against American Shelby Rogers.

Dark Horses

She’s mentioned above, but the biggest dark horse of this tournament might be Kvitova. With +1000 odds to win the tournament, she has the ability to do so. The Czech has a total of six grass court titles to her name, and is entering this year’s tournament having not lost a match on grass this year.

Not a lot of eyes will be on her early on, with the likes of Swiatek and Rybakina, so hopefully, for her, she’ll be able to play this tournament like its any of the other grass ones she played this year, she could take the Grand Slam by storm. We’ve seen in the past that Kvitova can get in her head sometimes, which ultimately hinders her playing abilities. If she’s able to keep all that in check, she’s one worth watching.
