Seattle Sea Dragons vs Orlando Guardians Picks

Seattle shocked the XFL last week, taking down previously undefeated and XFL Championship odds favorite Houston at home. The Sea Dragons held the Roughnecks to a season-low 14 points and just 279 total yards of offense.

On the other side of the ball, Seattle overcame three Ben DiNucci interceptions to rack up 21 points, the most Houston has surrendered all year. The Sea Dragons should have a much easier time finding the end zone against Orlando, who rank last in every key defensive category.

The Guardians have yielded a league-high 152 points, 18 more than anyone else. They’ve also forced a league-low three turnovers, and average less than two sacks per game.

Thanks to their lousy defense, four of Orlando’s five contests have gone over the total. This game sets up as a high-scoring affair as well, as the Guardians’ offense finally showed signs of life last week.

Recently re-instated Quinten Dormady threw for 256 yards and two scores, completing 88% of his passes versus Vegas. Orlando put up 32 points on the Vipers, after scoring 49 points in the previous four weeks combined.

Pick: Over 42.5 (-110)

St. Louis BattleHawks vs Vegas Vipers Picks

The second half of Saturday’s double-header features another projected high-scoring affair. The St. Louis vs Vegas total currently sits at a slate-high 44.5 points, and there’s an argument to be made that’s not high enough.

Per the XFL stats, these are the two worst-scoring defenses outside of Orlando. Both teams surrender north of 21 points per game, while the Vipers just coughed up 32 points to winless Orlando.

On the other side of the ball, the BattleHawks and Vipers feature quality offenses, led by veteran pivots. Former NFL backup and two-time BCS champion AJ McCarron leads the XFL in TD passes and is one of just three QBs that’s eclipsed 1,000 passings yards.

Vegas meanwhile, has minor-league veteran Luis Perez slinging it all over the field. Perez threw three touchdown passes last week and leads all XFL pivots, who’ve started at least four games, in passes resulting in first downs.

Pick: Over 44.5 (-110)

San Antonio Brahmas vs Arlington Renegades Picks

While we expect plenty of offense from the first two matchups, Sunday’s lone tilt will be hard-pressed to produce touchdowns.

San Antonio and Arlington are the two lowest-scoring teams in the league and managed just 22 points when they met last week.

The Renegades in particular have been a train wreck on offense, finding the end zone only five times total through five weeks.

XFL Championship Odds

Player Odds
DC Defenders +125
Houston Roughnecks +205
St. Louis BattleHawks +600
Seattle Sea Dragons +750
Arlington Renegades +750
San Antonio Brahmas +2500
Vegas Vipers +5000
Orlando Guardians +15000

Also working against offense in this matchup is the presence of two pretty strong defenses. San Antonio and Arlington rank second and third in scoring defense, with the Renegades leading the league in takeaways. Arlington is yielding only 16 points per game, despite having already faced three of the league’s top-four offenses.

Pick: Under 33 (-110)
