The San Antonio Spurs are reeling, having lost six of their last seven, the latest a tough OT loss to Brooklyn.
They won’t have much time to dwell on it, however, and that may be to their advantage, as they stay in NYC for their second game in as many nights, battling the Knicks.
New York is coming off a drubbing at the hands of the Celtics, but they have won three straight at home.
Both teams are dinged up heading into this contest, but according to New York sports betting, oddsmakers are hanging with the home team, pegging them as 6.5-point favorites.
Tip-off goes at 7:30pm ET from MSG, and you can watch the game live on NBA League Pass.

San Antonio Spurs Outlook
The short-handed Spurs gave the Brooklyn Nets all they could handle Sunday, but couldn’t come away with the win, losing 121-119 in overtime.
While the Spurs did cover a hefty 10-point spread, they couldn’t steal the win after overcoming a 10-point deficit in the fourth quarter, failing to get a reasonable shot at the end of regulation or overtime.

All five starters scored in double figures, led by Lonnie Walker IV, who had 25 points on 9-for-20 shooting, to go along with four assists and three boards.
Dejounte Murray added 19 points, 12 assists and nine rebounds, but was just 7-for-22 from the floor, and just 1-for-6 from downtown.

The rest of the Spurs, however, shot it well from distance, going a combined 13-for-32 (40.6%), while holding BK to just 8-for-28 (28.6%) on their 3-point opportunities.
San Antonio’s COVID list is still strong, and it appears the team will have to go again with the depleted unit against the Knicks.
The list includes forwards Keldon Johnson and Thaddeus Young and guards Derick White, Devin Vassell and Tre Jones. Forward Doug McDermott will be a game-time decision, while Zach Collins (ankle) is not expected back until around February.
New York Knicks Outlook
After the high of a win Friday night over the Celtics at a rocking MSG, the Knicks were crushed 99-75 in the second half of the home-and-home set in Beantown.

It was a woeful performance all-around, but particularly a reserve unit that logged 62 total minutes and went a combined 2-for-12 for six points. The starters didn’t fare much better, with none topping 20 points and only Mitchell Robinson shooting better than 50%.
RJ Barrett les the way with 19 points on 7-for-21 shooting, with six rebounds and two assists. Julius Randle had a rough outing, shooting 6-for-19 for 13 points, including 1-for-8 from three, adding 12 boards and six assists. As a team, they shot just 37% from the field.

The Knicks are down able bodies as well, with Evan Fournier (thigh) missing the game and questionable for San Antonio. Other regulars out Monday include guards Derrick Rose (ankle) and Kemba Walker (knee). Big man Nerlens Noel is coming off a stint on the COVID list and is likely out while working on conditioning.
Spurs vs Knicks Prediction
Both of these teams are on the fringes of the play-in.
New York ranks 11th in the East, though tied with Boston in the 10th and final play-in spot with identical 19-21 records.
San Antonio sits in 11th in the West at 15-24. They trail the Sacramento Kings for that final tournament spot, though they do have a couple of games in hand.

Despite their recent woes, the Spurs are pretty resilient, sporting a 4-1 mark ATS when playing on no rest.
The Knicks, meanwhile, are 4-1 ATS in their last five at home.
Expect San Antonio to carry whatever they had in Brooklyn to MSG, and a better effort from the Knicks.
With so many players out, so it’s a hard one to pick. While I expect New York to win, I don’t see them taking it by more than seven.
The Pick: Spurs +6.5 (-110)
