It was Ja Morant that wrecked the Los Angeles Lakers the last time these two teams met.
With the all-star out indefinitely as he deals with his off court issues, the Lakers (31-34, 16-15 home) can move into the top 10 of the West NBA Playoff Bracket with a win.
It will be the second game the Memphis Grizzlies (35-28, 12-20 away) will be minus Morant. They blew a winnable one last time out against a Clippers’ side that had lost five straight.
Action gets underway Tuesday (March 7) at 10pm ET from crypto.com Arena in LA. You can watch the game live on TNT.

Memphis Betting Analysis
Morant isn’t the only significant loss. Reserve Brandon Clarke (Achilles) is done for the year, while big man Steven Adams (knee) has also been ruled out.
Also down Dillon Brooks (suspension) against the Clippers, Memphis showed the highs and lows of basketball all in the second half of a 135-129 loss, their second straight.

Down six at half, Memphis lit LA on fire in the third quarter, hanging 51 in the frame, outscoring the Clips by 21. They couldn’t sustain it, however, getting outscored 38-17 in the fourth.
Desmond Bane was the leading scorer with 30 points, while adding six assists. Tyus Jones stepped into the starting role and poured in 25 points, 12 assists and five steals.
For a team that shot 54.3% from the field, 52.9% from three, outscoring the Clips by 18 points, Memphis got smoked from the stripe, giving up 20 more attempts and getting outscored by 22.
The Lakers happen to attempt 26.2 free throws per game, tied for 2nd-most per game in the NBA.
Los Angeles Betting Analysis
Los Angeles has looked better since overhauling their roster, going 4-2 post all-star break. Four of those games have been without star LeBron James, who’s still weeks away with a foot injury.
DeAngelo Russell, one of the key trade pickups, has been out five games with an ankle injury, but he’s been upgraded to questionable for Tuesday night.
Absolutely Dominant.

One player who has returned and looked great is big man Anthony Davis, Â putting up 33.8 points and 11.8 rebounds in his last four.
He was the difference last game, when the Lakers dumped the Golden State Warriors 113-105. The ‘Brow had 39 points, eight boards, six dimes and a pair of blocks.
Every Laker starter scored in double figures, while Austin Reeves had 16 points and eight assists off the bench.

Grizzlies vs Lakers Betting Prediction
This is third and final regular-season matchup between these two. The Lakers lost 121-109 in Memphis in the latest meeting Feb. 28. Morant had a 39-point triple double, while Davis countered with 28 points and 19 rebounds.
This game will feature two of the NBA’s premier paint-scoring clubs, led by Memphis’ 58.9 points, with LA in fourth at 55.1. Part of that success comes from their running game, which both excel at. LA scores 16.6 fast break points a game (5th), and Memphis is second at 17.6 points.
Memphis has not been a great bet as an underdog this season. In fact, the Grizz are the NBA’s worst, going 1-12-0 against the spread in 13 games. They’re the only team that hasn’t failed to cover at least three times as a ‘dog on the year.
The Lakers have fared much better, going 11-6-0 ATS as a betting favorite. Even without James, look for them to take advantage of a Grizzlies’ side in a rough patch.
Pick:Â
- Lakers -2 (-110); 1 unit to win 0.91 units
- NBA Betting Record: 31-29-1 ATS, 1-2 ML, 7-0 o/u, 0-3 parlays; -9.56 units
