Murray State vs Duke Picks & Prediction

  • Under 16 runs (-115) at bet365

Murray State came to mash in the NCAA Tournament, and mash they have. The Racers belted out 17 hits in a must-win Game 2, exploding for nine runs in the seventh inning to blow the lid off this one and eventually win by 10.

Murray State rampaged through the Missouri Valley Conference, with a division-best .305 team average, the mist total runs, hits, doubles, and runs batted in.

In the postseason, they combined for at least 23 runs in three games in the Oxford Regional, and they’ve topped the 16 run total set for Monday in four of their last five games. The one game in that spree that they were held in check was in Game 1 of the Super Regional, where the Blue Devils held them to their lowest postseason scoring output in a 7-4 win.

Duke has plenty of offense, itself, ranking second in the ACC in runs scored and in home runs. However, they’ve been held down in the Super Regional, hitting .222 over the two games. Of those hits, though, the Blue Devils have six home runs.

Their pitching didn’t hold up Sunday, and that’s cause for concern, as the Racers are hitting an incredible .347 over the two games.

History isn’t on their side either: Duke is winless in three Game 3’s in their last three Super Regionals, losing 12-2 to Virginia in 2023, 13-2 to Vanderbilt in 2019 and 6-2 to Texas Teach in 2018.

This will be their first home game in a Super Regional finale, and they haven’t lost consecutive games at Jack Coombs Field since May 2024.Their pitching will, including a reeling bullpen, will need to come through. If it does, this game should stay Under that large total.
