Catterall Boxing Analysis
Jack Catterall (30-2, 13 KOs) is still one of the best welterweights in Britain, even after his recent setback. The 32-year-old lefty from Chorley has been close to snagging a world title for a while now, especially after that split-decision loss to Josh Taylor in 2022 that stirred up some debate.
The loss really got boxing fans riled up, as they believed Catterall had put in the work to take down the unified champ. He came back strong against Taylor in their rematch, then took down former world champ Regis Prograis in a fight where he really proved his toughness by getting back up to win.
His most recent outing ended in disappointment, though, dropping a split decision to Arnold Barboza Jr in February when an interim WBO title was on the line. The loss cost him a shot at Teofimo Lopez and forced this move up to welterweight.
Catterall’s got that smooth southpaw style, great timing, and solid ring smarts. He hasn’t knocked anyone out since 2019, but he’s dropped elite opponents like Taylor and Prograis with perfectly timed shots. To get back on track against Eubank, he’s gotta lean on his experience and technical skills to manage the distance and pace.
Catterall vs Eubank Tale of the Tape
30-2 | Record | 21-0 |

Eubank Boxing Analysis
Harlem Eubank (21-0, 9 KOs) has quietly built up an unbeaten record and earned his shot at the big stage. At 31, the Brighton native is stepping into the spotlight with confidence, and he’s not just riding on the Eubank name.
He’s earned his way here. In March, Eubank captured the IBF Inter-Continental title after dropping Tyrone McKenna three times en route to a 10th-round TKO.
He’s got an inch of height on Catterall, plus solid fundamentals and an aggressive style. Eubank likes to press forward and turn fights into brawls, which could challenge Catterall’s more technical approach.
Eubank has to make this a real brawl to pull off the upset. He’s gonna have to bring his physical game, stay active, and see if Catterall can handle the new weight on his chin. His age and drive might play a role if he can pull the favorite into tougher territory.
That said, this is a huge step up. Eubank hasn’t faced anyone near Catterall’s level yet, and that lack of top-tier experience could be his undoing. Defensive lapses won’t go unpunished.
Catterall vs Eubank Prediction
Eubank’s unbeaten record makes this interesting, but Catterall’s experience should be the difference. He’s faced champions, survived tough rounds, and knows how to stay composed under pressure.
Look for Catterall to start patient, working behind the jab, using footwork to keep his distance, and setting up counters. As the rounds tick by, expect him to land clean shots, especially that sharp left hand as Eubank tries to close the gap.
Eubank won’t go quietly. His heart and grit will keep him in the fight. But Catterall’s accuracy and ring smarts should help him pull ahead on the cards. If he lands something big, don’t be shocked to see a knockdown or two.
This one likely goes the distance, with Catterall earning a well-earned unanimous decision. A win here pushes him right back into the mix for a welterweight title shot.
