Freshly inserted into college football’s Top 25, the Nebraska Cornhuskers (5-1, 2.1 Big Ten) try to break a 5-game losing slide to the Minnesota Golden Gophers (4-2, 1-2 Big Ten) when they meet Saturday.
The Golden Gophers haven’t strung together back-to-back wins since the first two weeks of the season, part of the reason they are home underdogs in the college football odds.
Kickoff is scheduled for 8pm ET from Huntington Bank Stadium in Minneapolis with FOX providing the broadcast coverage.
Nebraska vs Minnesota Score Prediction & Picks
- Final Score Prediction: Nebraska 33-17
- Pick: Nebraska -7.5 (-102 at FanDuel)

Despite the fact that Minnesota is a perfect 4-0 at home this season, I like Nebraska to take this Big Ten matchup with relative ease.
The Cornhuskers are putting up 41 points per game, good for fourth in the conference, and they have scored at least 27 points in every game they’ve played on the season.
It’s an offense that ranks inside the nation’s Top 30 at 450 yards of offense per game, and they do much of their damage through the air, ranking 10th overall at 310 pass yards per contest.
They’re led by QB Dylan Raiola, who tied his season-high with four TD passes last week in a win over Maryland.
Their only blemish this season was a 30-27 loss to then 21st-ranked Michigan, still the only ranked team they’ve played so far this year.
If there is any concern, it’s that they’ve watched a double-digit lead to evaporate in each of their last two games. While they recovered to pick up wins, those lapses had them fail to cover the spread in both. They’re now 0-3-0 ATS in the last three overall.
Key Offensive Stats
Perhaps that’s why the odds have shortened for Saturday (more on that below), but Minnesota can’t match the offensive power that Nebraska brings to the table. They rank 106th in total yards, aided by the fact their run game churns out a lowly 112.3 yards per game, a bottom-3 mark in the Big Ten.
It was a virtual non-factor in last week’s 27-20 win over Purdue, netting 30 total yards on 18 carries.
If they can’t get the rush attack going, that leaves a lot of weight on redshirt freshman quarterback Drake Lindsey to deliver. He threw for 232 yards and two scores against the Boilermakers, but Nebraska is a level-up.
The Cornhuskers own the top pass defense in college football, allowing just 118 pass yards per contest and have limited quarterbacks to a 94.3 rating, which is second-best in the nation.
Nebraska vs Minnesota ATS Trends
Both schools have been more of a bettors’ nightmare than dream, with Nebraska and Minnesota posting losing records against the spread. The Cornhuskers are 0-2-0 ATS so far on the road, while the Golden Gophers are 1-2-1 at home this season.
2025 ATS Stats
During Minnesota’s 5-game win streak in this head-to-head, they’ve gone 3-2-0 ATS, dropping each of the last two. Each of their last four wins has been settled by seven points or less.
The college football public betting trends are divded, with 53% of the bets on Minnesota to cover at +7.5 garnering 59% of the money. Just 47% of the bets and 41% of the money is taking Nebraska at -7.
Nebraska vs Minnesota Updated Odds
At one point during the week, Nebraska was as short as a 9.5-point road favorite. The sharp bettors took note of that value, and the line has moved to as low as -7, depending on what book you’re looking at.
The total hasn’t seen much swing, sticking mostly to within a half-point of the current 47.5 total in either direction.
There are plenty of options for the Cornhuskers at seven points, including Caesars. Golden Gopher backers can grab them at +7.5 at a variety of stops, including FanDuel.
