After a wild Week 8, sportsbooks have posted college football Week 9 odds for the vast majority of games this coming weekend, which features three ranked-on-ranked matchups (assuming #22 Memphis falls out after losing 31-24 at UAB as 23.5-point favorites), headlined by Ole Miss vs Oklahoma, Missouri vs Vanderbilt, and Texas A&M vs LSU.

No ranked teams play before Saturday, October 25th, in Week 9. Only one power-conference game takes place before the weekend: Cal vs Virginia Tech on Friday, October 24th.

The #1 Ohio State Buckeyes remain the outright favorites in the national championship odds at +275, head-and-shoulders ahead of second-favorite Alabama (+600).
Early Week 9 Prediction: Vanderbilt (-3) over Missouri
The Vanderbilt Commodores () continued their brilliant season in Week 8 with a 31-24 home victory over #10 LSU, covering as 2.5-point chalk. In Week 9, they get to stay home against another ranked opponent, #16 Missouri, which is coming off a 23-17 double-OT win at Auburn as 1.5-point favorites.
Both teams have just one loss this season, and both came to Alabama. Missouri fell 27-24 at home to the Tide in Week 7. Vanderbilt lost 30-14 at Alabama in Week 6.
The ESPN FPI has these teams at a nearly identical numbers. Missouri is 17th in the nation at 15.9 while Vanderbilt is 18th at 15.5. But I’m fully sold on Vanderbilt as a legitimate national power this season. They were full value for their win over LSU, outgaining the Tigers 399-325 and holding the ball for 36:31. No one has really proven they can stop the Vandy ground game, which just put up 239 yards on a good LSU defense. With homefield advantage once again, the Commodores are my favorite early ATS pick in Week 9.
