The Jake Paul vs Anthony Joshua fight is being labelled a circus and a cash grab, but at the end of the day, you could say that about most professional boxing matches. The highly anticipated heavyweight bout goes down tonight on Netflix, and I don’t expect it to be particularly close.
As a result, there’s no sense betting Joshua on the moneyline because the juice is simply too high. That’s not the case in the props market, however, as I’ve found a couple bets to target for tonight’s fight.
Here are my favorite Paul vs Joshua props and the best bets for knockout, total rounds and more.
Paul vs Joshua Method of Victory
As you can see, AJ is an overwhelming favorite to knock Paul out. If forced to make a knockout bet I’d wager on Joshua at -380, but there are more favorable props to target for the former champ.
The public however, is all over Paul. Online sportsbooks claim he’s responsible for 82% of the bets and 91% of the money as a +700 underdog as of Friday afternoon. A Paul upset victory would reportedly cost sportsbooks in the neighbourhood of $100 million, but there’s not too much danger in that happening.

Jake Paul vs Anthony Joshua Best Prop Bets
- Over 2.5 Rounds (-145)
- Joshua to Win in Rounds 3-4 (+280)
Paul’s only professional heavyweight fight came against a 58-year-old Mike Tyson, and was littered with stipulations to protect the YouTuber. Joshua was winning Olympic gold medals when Paul was only 15 years old, and carries a 40 pound and 6 inch reach advantage. He is a multiple time heavyweight champion, and one of the most powerful punchers ever.
Tale of the Tape
Unlike most of Paul’s opponents, AJ isn’t over the hill or a boxing novice. He’s a 36-year-old former champ that’s set on chasing down more championship glory. Most boxers might take a fight like this likely, but this isn’t Joshua’s first rodeo. He annihilated former UFC heavyweight champ Francis Ngannou last year in a similar spectacle, a man with 3 inches and 50+ pounds on Paul.
Joshua knows his reputation is at stake in a fight like this, and won’t come to the ring unprepared. He’s been training out of World No. 1 heavyweight Oleksandr Usyk’s gym in Spain, and has promised to take Paul’s soul tonight.
The question is how long will the fight last? Online sportsbooks have released round betting props, and I see a ton of value on Joshua in that market.
Paul vs Joshua Total Rounds
My favorite bet of the fight, as I wrote about earlier in the week, is over 2.5 rounds. I have no doubt that Joshua will ultimately finish Paul, but I do expect the underdog to stick around for a few rounds. For one, Netflix has dropped a ton of money on this fight and the last thing they want is for it to end in just a few minutes.
I would never suggest that boxing is rigged, but I wouldn’t be surprised if Joshua was nudged to delay dropping the hammer. He’ll likely need a few rounds anyway to adjust to the lighter, quicker Paul’s pace, but from there one well timed punch is all it will take.
I believe Joshua will stop Paul in either round 3 or 4, which is a win for both Netflix and Paul, and still preserves AJ’s legacy. The streaming giant will get a fight that goes roughly half the distance, while Paul can say he hung with one of the best to ever put on the gloves for multiple rounds.
You can also make an argument to bet Joshua to win in rounds 5 or 6 at longer odds, but that’s asking a lot given the size, experience and skill discrepancy between the two fighters.
