The post-James Harden-Ivica Zubac era started well enough for the LA Clippers (24-27, 11-16 away). Now we get to see how they do against one of the league’s heavies when they visit the Minnesota Timberwolves (32-21, 17-9 home) on Super Bowl Sunday.

The Timberwolves have dominated the Clips, winning nine of the last ten, a big reason why they’re a sizable home favorite in Sunday’s NBA odds. Action tips off at 3:00 pm ET from the Target Center in Minneapolis with ESPN carrying the broadcast.

The spread for Sunday is 8.5 points on both sides, and both pay out at -110 odds at bet365. Picking the Clips outright comes with a nice payout of +270 from DraftKings.

Wagering on Minnesota doesn’t bring much value, with FanDuel’s odds set at -319.

Clippers vs Timberwolves Picks & Prediction

• Pick: Timberwolves -8.5 (-110 at bet365)

Two factors are working in Minnesota’s favor, and that’s why I’m taking the home team to cover in my Clippers vs Timberwolves picks.

LA just dealt two of its most important pieces not names Kawhi Leonard, with James Harden off to Cleveland and Ivica Zubac heading to Indiana.

This is a team that worked its way back into play-in contention in the ultra-competitive West, before the plans went off the rails. To their credit, LA won its debut post trade, outlasting Sacramento 114-111, giving them 18 wins in their last 24 starts.

But now they face a legitimately good Minnesota team, one that ranks inside the Top 10 of the 2026 NBA Championship odds, and expected to be in a foul mood after a rough 119-115 loss to New Orleans, one of only two teams in the league that’s already cracked the 40-loss plateau.

Minny has been playing down to the competition of late, getting blown out by Minnesota 137-128, needing the rally from 22 down to upend Toronto, which followed with the NOLA nightmare.

It was bad enough that Rudy Gobert ripped his team postgame for lack of effort, and implored the coaches to step up and show the team those sorts of efforts are not acceptable.

That sort of call out demands a response — if the team does legitimately see itself as a contender in the West.

Minny’s prized pickup Ayo Dosunmo, a combo guard that came from the Bulls, is expected to make his debut Sunday. With plenty of veteran leadership guys and blue collar workers already dotting the roster, Dosunmo will be the key to unlocking potential growth of the offense and defense.

This will be the second of four head-to-head matchups on the year, with the Timberwovles winning at home 109-106, making it five straight over the Clippers.

Despite missing out on wins, LA has been close, losing by three points or less in three of the last four games. and going 3-1-0 against the spread.

Usually that’s enough to sway my pick, but I don’t know if LA has the horses that can keep up with an inspired T-Wolves side. Trade deadline pickups Darius Garland (toe), Isaiah Jackson and Bennedict Mathurin will not be available for Sunday.

Having broken down the matchup, and considering at variables like team trends, statistical analysis for each player, both against the opponent vs recent form, I’ve landed on a pair of props that offer good value.

Best Bet #1: Anthony Edwards Over 27.5 Points (-120 at bet365)

Anthony Edwards has been on quite a scoring binge. He dropped 35 in the loss to New Orleans, making it four straight games he’s topped the 30-point plateau and the seventh time he’s met that mark over the last 10 games.

Ant has had problems with the Clips in the past, who have held him Under this total eight times in the last 10 meetings.

But the Clips are in flux, and while Edwards was tough to guard on his own already, LA’s depleted roster means there aren’t enough other wing players that can make him work on the other end of the floor, either.

Best Bet #2: Rudy Gobert Over 11.5 rebounds (-115 at bet365)

You can’t call out your teammates’ effort and then lay an egg in the next game.

So Rudy Gobert does have some pressure to perform, but the T-Wolves’ big man and second-leading rebounder in the NBA has his game pretty solid and consistent.

The Frenchman had 16 rebounds against the Pelicans, giving him at least 12 boards in three of the last four games. Gobert actually has had just two games since December 1 where he’s gone under double-digit rebounds.
