The PGA Tour regular season has come to a close, as Michael Brennan captured the Wyndham Championship to punch his ticket to the FedEx St. Jude Championship. He’s joined by the other top 69 players to compete this week, with the cut being the top-50 players after this event to advance to the second leg of the postseason. Following play at the BMW Championship, then the remaining 30 compete for the FedEx Cup at the Tour Championship.

After opting not to play the first leg of the playoffs last year, two-time reigning Masters champion Rory McIlroy will be teeing it up, and he’s the second favorite to win, behind world #1 Scottie Scheffler. In 2025, Justin Rose won a playoff against J.J. Spaun, which was the fourth playoff in the last five years at this tourney.

I’m starting my card this week with Collin Morikawa, who captured his eighth career trophy on the PGA Tour at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am this season. He’s had an all-around fantastic 2026, putting together six top-10s, including a third place showing at the Travelers Championship (one shot out of a playoff) two events ago.

Morikawa also has been solid at this venue historically, with four consecutive top-25s at TPC Southwind, highlighted by a T-5th in 2022. He sports odds longer than the top-eight on the board (+2600 at DraftKings), so there’s still decent value on the two-time major champ.

• Hideki Matsuyama +3300 at DraftKings: Hideki Matsuyama has tasted victory at this track, winning the FedEx St. Jude Championship in 2024, and he was also runner-up in 2021, dropping a playoff. He has five top 10s in 2026, and comes in hot, racking up three straight at the 3M Open (T-3rd), T-5th at the Rocket Classic and T-7th at the Wyndham Championship.
• Viktor Hovland +4100 at DraftKings: Viktor Hovland defeated Scottie Scheffler in a playoff three starts ago at the Travelers Championship, and was third two tourneys before that at the RBC Canadian Open. The Norwegian has solid course history here, as he was second in 2024.
• J.J. Spaun +7592 at Kalshi: 2025 U.S. Open champion J.J. Spaun very nearly picked up his next victory here, as he wound up runner-up in a playoff loss. Spaun won earlier in the campaign at the Valero Texas Open, and has three top-10s since, including at two signature events.
• Ryan Gerard +8991 at Kalshi: Ryan Gerard has quietly had a stellar season, with a trio of runner-up finishes at the Sony Open, The American Express and Memorial Tournament. Before a missed cut at the Wyndham, Gerard posted back-to-back top 10s, one of which was at the Open Championship. While winning might be a stretch, he’ll be fascinating to monitor in the top 10/20 markets.
