Injuries are dominating the headlines ahead of tonight’s Bucks vs Pistons contest, as both teams are expected to be without multiple key contributors. One player who will be back in the Detroit lineup is Cade Cunningham, who’s set to see his first action since going down with a collapsed lung on March 17th.

Online sportsbooks aren’t expecting Milwaukee to put up much of a fight, pegging Detroit as 20.5-point favorites in the latest NBA odds. I’m going to bypass that market all together for this Eastern Conference clash, and focus exclusively on player props.

Along with Cunningham, the Pistons will lean heavily on the imposing interior presence of Jalen Duren to protect their home court. Ryan Rollins meanwhile, is a compelling target on the Bucks side, as he’s seen a major bump in usage recently.

My favorite NBA props bet tonight is Duren over 9.5 rebounds. I’m also betting over 14.5 points for Rollins, as the rest of the Milwaukee roster is in shambles.

The Bucks are operating on the second leg of a back-to-back, and Kyle Kuzma, Myles Turner, Bobby Portis, and Gary Trent Jr all missed yesterday’s game and are listed as day-to-day. Giannis Antetokounmpo hasn’t played since mid-March, while Kevin Porter Jr is out for the season with a knee injury.

Detroit boasts a suffocating defense and dominates the glass with a 52.7% total rebound percentage, while their offense relies heavily on interior scoring over three-point volume. Conversely, Milwaukee’s biggest weakness is their porous defense, yielding 116.6 points per game overall.

The Pistons offense has been running through Duren with Cunningham out, but even though Detroit’s star point guard is returning, Duren will still command a heavy usage rate inside. The Bucks have fallen off a cliff defensively on the road, allowing 114.6 points per game and posting the fifth worst rebounding rate.

Duren has gone over 9.5 rebounds in 22 of his 33 home games this season, giving this prop a rock-solid 66.6% success rate at Little Caesars Arena. He’s a major reason why the Pistons have remained a top NBA Championship odds contender in Cunningham’s absence, and is turning into a star.

As for Rollins, when he sees the floor in these depleted Milwaukee lineups, he becomes a relentless focal point. Rollins enter play averaging 22.5 points per game over his last six outings. During that span, his usage rate has skyrocketed to a massive 32.6%. The sheer shot volume makes this line appear low, and with few other options the Bucks will be forced to let Rollins fire all night long.
