The Los Angeles Dodgers (24-16) welcome the San Francisco Giants (16-24) to Dodger Stadium tonight, as these National League West clubs renew their rivalry at 7:10 PM PT, 10:10 PM ET.

Coming into this matchup, the Dodgers are heavy home favorites in the MLB odds, looking to rebound from a 7-2 loss to the Atlanta Braves. The underdog Giants meanwhile, are looking to carry over the momentum from a 7-6 extra innings win over the Pirates.

Featuring elite hitters like Shohei Ohtani, Mookie Betts, and Freddie Freeman, Los Angeles sits atop the division tied with the Padres. Conversely, San Francisco has struggled for the most part of the campaign, entering play 8 games below .500.

Below, you’ll find my favorite predictions and player props to bet in the Giants vs Dodgers contest on May 11.

My favorite bet tonight is the Dodgers runline at +115 odds. Despite probable starter Roki Sasaki’s early-season issues—evidenced by a 5.97 ERA and 1.67 WHIP over 28.2 innings—Los Angeles possesses a significantly deeper lineup and a sturdier overall pitching staff, carrying a collective 3.27 team ERA compared to San Francisco’s 4.08 mark.

The Giants will start Trevor McDonald, who has posted a 1.29 ERA but in a highly limited 7.0-inning sample size. Navigating a patient Los Angeles lineup will be a different test for the right-hander. I expect the World Series odds favorites to generate enough offense to cover the spread and the bullpen to effectively secure the late innings.

Sasaki (1-3) takes the mound searching for consistency. His 5.97 ERA and 6.81 FIP are elevated by a high 4.71 BB/9 rate, directly contributing to a 1.67 WHIP. Opponents are batting .287 against him, indicating that when he misses his spots, hitters make contact. However, Sasaki logs an 8.2 K/9 rate and can be highly effective if he controls his walk rate.

McDonald (1-0) posted a 1.29 ERA and 0.29 WHIP in his lone 7.0-inning start. During that outing, he struck out 8 batters without issuing a walk. However, replicating that pinpoint command against a powerful Los Angeles lineup will be a significant challenge for the young arm.

Digging into the MLB starting pitchers and lineups, the most glaring mismatch in this contest is contact quality. Los Angeles averages a 90.4 mph exit velocity at home, ranking second in the league under those conditions. With Ohtani and Freeman anchoring the lineup, the team consistently generates hard contact. Conversely, San Francisco posts a sluggish .652 road OPS and averages just 3.11 runs per game away from home. The team relies heavily on singles and groundballs, which benefits a Los Angeles pitching staff that owns the third-best team ERA (3.27) in baseball.

Moving over to the MLB props market, where Andy Pages is an appealing option. He is hitting .333 with a .571 slugging percentage and .946 OPS. He averages 1.22 hits per game and has already hit 9 home runs this season. Backing him to clear 1.5 total bases offers an excellent edge.

Sasaki records 8.2 strikeouts per 9 innings. He’s got no history versus San Fran per the MLB batter vs pitcher stats, but if he pitches 5 innings he should reach 5 punchouts against a Giants offense that often stalls on the road.
