  • Arizona puts a four-game winning streak on the line at home Saturday night
  • Third downs and pressure up front should decide this Big 12 clash
  • Read below for my Iowa State vs Arizona prediction, picks and how to watch

No. 25 Arizona (5-1, 2-1 Big 12) hosts Iowa State (3-3, 1-2 Big 12) this evening at Casino Del Sol Stadium in Tucson. Both teams are coming off a bye, so each staff has had two weeks to prepare for this one.

The Wildcats beat West Virginia 52-31 last time out for their fourth straight win, and their offense has become one of the most efficient units in the conference. Iowa State dropped a 24-10 decision at BYU in their previous game and needs a big response tonight to stay in the Big 12 conversation.

This is a true clash of styles. Arizona wants to throw and win the money downs, while the Cyclones lean on a ground game that has been as dependable as any in the country. Below, I break down my Iowa State vs Arizona prediction, two picks and how to watch Saturday’s matchup.

Iowa State vs Arizona Prediction

Prediction: Arizona 34, Iowa State 21

My Iowa State vs Arizona prediction comes down to whether the Cyclones can keep Arizona’s offense off the field. I don’t think they can for four quarters. Arizona averages 35.7 points and 456.5 total yards per game, and its 55.6% third-down conversion rate ranks fourth in FBS.

StatisticArizonaIowa State
Record5-13-3
Points per game35.729.7
Total yards per game456.5359.7
Passing yards per game306.7178.2
Rushing yards per game149.8181.5

The gap shows up through the air, where Arizona throws for more than 128 extra yards per game. Iowa State’s 181.5 rushing yards per game is its clearest path to staying close, but an Arizona defense allowing just 19 points per game has the tools to make the Cyclones one-dimensional.

Iowa State vs Arizona Picks

Both of my Iowa State vs Arizona picks use Kalshi contracts. A Yes contract at 51¢ implies roughly a 51% chance and pays $1 if it hits.

Noah Fifita has completed 140 of 191 passes for 1,756 yards with 16 touchdowns and four interceptions. He spreads it around, with Javin Spivey (22 catches, 314 yards, four touchdowns) and Isaiah Mizell (19 catches, 359 yards, four touchdowns) both capable of creating chunk plays.

The other half of my Arizona case is the pass rush. The Wildcats have 19 sacks, averaging 3.17 per game for sixth in FBS. That matters against Jaylen Raynor, who has completed 85 of 148 passes for 1,001 yards, seven touchdowns and four interceptions. If Arizona gets Iowa State behind the sticks, Raynor has to win from the pocket, and I don’t trust that matchup against this front. The NCAAF ATS Records & Trends are worth a look, but I’m comfortable laying double digits at home.

Iowa State vs Arizona Pick #2: Over 51.5

Iowa State’s counterpunch is Aiden Flora, who has 680 yards and six touchdowns on 90 carries. His 7.56 yards per carry ranks second in FBS, and his 113.3 rushing yards per game rank ninth. The Cyclones have also topped 100 team rushing yards in 23 straight games, so I expect them to put points on the board even if Arizona controls the game.

Both offenses finish drives, too. Iowa State has come away with points on all 17 red-zone trips, and Arizona has scored on 21 of 23. The two scoring averages combine for 65.4 points, which leaves plenty of room above this number.

Iowa State vs Arizona Odds

Here’s where the Kalshi board sits for Iowa State vs Arizona as of October 23. You can compare these prices against the latest college football odds.

Arizona moneylineYes77¢
Iowa State moneylineYes25¢
Arizona -10.5Yes51¢
Over 51.5Yes50¢
Under 51.5No on Over 51.551¢

Arizona is a clear favorite at 77¢ to win outright, which is exactly why I’d rather take the spread at a near coin-flip price than pay up for the moneyline. The total is priced almost evenly on both sides, so the edge comes down to the matchup, not the market.
