Salt Lake City gets the show this week. Utah is 6-0, Houston is 6-1, and two of the Big 12’s best resumes meet with the conference race tightening. Houston at Utah kicks off at 10:15 PM ET on ESPN.
College GameDay broadcasts from President’s Circle on the Utah campus. Former Utah tight end Dalton Kincaid handles guest picker duties alongside the regular panel.
Below you’ll find the College GameDay Week 8 picks tracker, Saturday’s featured games and my betting card.
College GameDay Week 8 Location, Time & Guest Picker
Davis hosts the GameDay set with Kirk Herbstreit, Desmond Howard, Pat McAfee and Nick Saban. The digital preshow starts at 8:20 AM ET ahead of the main broadcast.
College GameDay Picks Today: Week 8 Crew Predictions
The crew’s straight-up College GameDay picks are pending until the final segment. The matchup rows below are provisional and get adjusted once the panel sets its board.
Week 8 College GameDay Superdog Picks
Superdogs are GameDay picks against the spread, a separate bet from the straight-up winners above. These selections are pending until the segment runs.
How the Week 7 GameDay Picks Finished
Steve Young ran the table in Provo. The guest picker went 10-0 on his College GameDay picks, which no panelist came close to matching.
Herbstreit did not pick Notre Dame-BYU, which is why his total shows nine selections. The majority call went 7-2, and the host game finished tied 2-2.
Superdogs split 3-3, with covers from BYU +10.5, Nebraska +7 and Kentucky +6.5. My own card went 2-1 against the spread: Indiana +3 lost, while BYU +11 and Oklahoma State +4.5 both cashed.
Week 8 College Football TV Schedule & Odds
Saturday’s featured college football TV schedule starts at noon ET and finishes with Houston at Utah. Spreads and totals are from BetMGM.
My Week 8 College Football Best Bets
A total and two underdogs this week. Two run through prediction market apps, and you can compare the rest of Saturday’s college football odds across the board.
Indiana vs Michigan Prediction: Under 42.5
- My Pick: Under 42.5 (50¢ on Kalshi)
My Indiana vs Michigan prediction is Under 42.5. Five of Michigan’s six games have finished below that total. The Wolverines are averaging 22.7 and allowing 16.2, so they neither score in bunches nor let opponents do it.
Indiana scores plenty at 36.6 per game, which is the risk here. But the Hoosiers allow 12.9 points and 75.4 rushing yards, and Josh Hoover’s 18 touchdowns with zero interceptions means fewer gifted possessions for Michigan.
Ole Miss vs Texas Pick: Rebels +3.5
- My Pick: Ole Miss +3.5 (-128 at BetMGM)
My Ole Miss vs Texas pick starts with a Rebels offense coming off a 31-3 win over Missouri. Ole Miss is 5-1. The Rebels average 37.5 points and 444.5 yards, and their offensive line leads the SEC at 0.83 sacks allowed per game.
Texas allows 17.8 points per game, so the Rebels will have to work. The offense is the softer side at 30.2 per game with five Arch Manning interceptions, and more than a field goal is worth having against a team that lost its last two by three.
Houston vs Utah Best Bet: Cougars +6.5
- My Pick: Houston +6.5 (48¢ on Kalshi)
Houston scores 39.3 points per game and runs for 220.3, so the Cougars can match Utah’s pace rather than needing a comeback. They also allow 82.6 rushing yards, which takes away the simplest way for a home favorite to pull clear late.
Utah counters at 40.2 points per game and is unbeaten for a reason. Houston’s scoring balance and run defense give me enough reason to take the points. My Houston vs Utah prediction is a close game, with the Cougars staying inside 6.5.
