History will be made tonight in Golden State on two fronts. For the first time in the WNBA’s history, the championship round will require a do-or-die Game 7, with both the Atlanta Dream and Valkyries seeking their franchise’s inaugural title. Online sportsbooks are siding with Golden State to hoist the trophy, listing them as 1.5 point favorites for this pivotal Game 7 showdown.

Tip-off is scheduled for 8 pm ET, 5 pm PT, from the Chase Center in San Francisco, CA, with USA Network and CNBC providing the coverage. Keep reading for my Dream vs Valkyries Game 7 picks, predictions and props, below.

Golden State checks in with a -115 price tag in the WNBA Championship odds ahead of tonight’s matchup, with Atlanta coming back at -105. The total for Game 7 currently sits at 142.5 at most commercial sportsbooks, with each team boasting a 71.5 point team total. I’ve been fading the Golden State team total all series long with enormous success, and I can’t imagine not continuing to attack that market tonight.

Dream vs Valkyries Game 7 Picks and Predictions

  • Golden State Valkyries Under 71.5 Points (-110 at BetMGM)

The Valkyries are a horrific shooting team. There is no polite way to say it. They made just 31% of their field goal attempts in Game 6, and were a dreadful 7-of-27 (26%) from beyond the arc. That marked the sixth straight game they’ve failed to reach 72 points, and the fifth time in six outings they’ve failed to clear 69 points. It was also the sixth consecutive game they’ve been below 37% from the field, and not even 21 free throw attempts could propel them past the 69 point mark.

A lack of efficiency is nothing new, as Golden State was the worst shooting team during the regular season. They also ranked bottom-3 in points and assists per game, relying heavily on defense to win games. To make matters worse for fans of offensive basketball, the Valkyries operate at a snail’s pace. They were last during the regular season in pace, and have continued to play ridiculously slow during the Finals. Throw in an above average Dream defense, with plenty of rim protection, and there’s little chance Golden State reaches 72 points, whether they win the title or not.

Dream vs Valkyries Game 7 Props

  • Kiah Stokes 9+ Rebounds (-126 at bet365)

Moving over to the player props market, where I’m targeting Kiah Stokes to keep dominating on the glass. Stokes has seen a major increase in- minutes during the postseason, and in the Finals particularly, in large part to battle Angel Reese on the boards. So far she’s held her own, averaging 10 rebounds per outing, and I expect the Valkyries to lean on her for another heavy allotment of minutes tonight.

Stokes has played at least 25 minutes in five of the six Finals games, with the lone exception being Game 6 after Golden State got down big. She still grabbed 7 rebound in 20 minutes during the loss, and if we project her for 25+ minutes tonight, most models have her mean projection roughly 1.5 rebounds higher than her current prop line. New users can claim the bet365 promo code for a bonus to use on Game 7.

  • Jordin Canada 10+ Points (-138 at bet365)

I’m also targeting Atlanta’s Jordin Canada to splash 10+ points. She’s reached double-figures in each of the past five Finals games, and in all but one of her 11 postseason contests this year. Even though she’s been one of Atlanta’s most reliable scorers, she’s actually in line for some positive regression, which makes me like this wager even more.

Canada is shooting below 40% for the series, and is just 5-of-25 from beyond the arc (20%). Both of those numbers are well below her season-long and career averages, yet she still keeps firing, averaging 12 attempts per contest. That’s more than enough volume to comfortably clear this prop line even with if she remains inefficient, and it also invites the opportunity to play some of her point ladders at very favorable odds (12+ points at +136, 15+ points at +316, and 18+ points at +720)
