The first College Football Playoff rankings put Miami at No. 1 and Notre Dame at No. 11. Now the unbeaten Hurricanes have to defend that ranking in South Bend. ESPN’s College GameDay goes live from Library Lawn at 9 AM ET ahead of the rivalry game.
Jason Sudeikis handles guest picker duties, and he has history with this rivalry. ESPN says he attended the 1988 meeting that later became the subject of the Catholics vs. Convicts documentary. Marcus Freeman joins the set live, with Joe Montana and Jerome Bettis also scheduled to appear.
NBC and Peacock carry Miami at Notre Dame tonight. I went 3-0 on last week’s GameDay card. This Saturday I’m backing a side in the Holy War and playing the total in South Bend.
College GameDay Week 10 Location, Time & Guest Picker
ESPN lists this as Notre Dame’s 43rd GameDay appearance and its 13th time hosting, while Miami makes its 30th. Rece Davis runs the set with Kirk Herbstreit, Desmond Howard, Pat McAfee and Nick Saban.
BYU coach Kalani Sitake is scheduled to speak with Taylor McGregor ahead of the noon window in Salt Lake City. Notre Dame women’s basketball star Hannah Hidalgo is also slated to appear on the show.
College GameDay Picks Today: Week 10 Crew Predictions
The crew makes its straight-up College GameDay picks during the final segment. I’ll add each selection to the tracker below as they come in Saturday morning.
Week 10 College GameDay Superdog Picks
Superdogs are GameDay picks against the spread, which makes them a separate bet from the straight-up winners above. These selections are pending until the segment runs.
How the Week 9 GameDay Picks Finished
Saban and guest picker Isiah Thomas tied for the best mark at 8-2. Herbstreit shows nine selections rather than 10 because he did not make a pick on Florida-Georgia.
The Superdogs finished 2-4 against the spread. Saban’s Syracuse +10.5 won outright 30-27, and McAfee’s Navy +30.5 covered comfortably in a 35-13 loss to Notre Dame.
My own card went 3-0. Minnesota +20.5, Utah -7 and the Ohio State-USC under 51.5 all cashed.

My Week 10 College Football Best Bets
Two sides and a total this week, all three off the BetMGM board.
BYU vs Utah Prediction: Cougars +4.5
- My Pick: BYU +4.5, alternate spread (-120 at BetMGM)
The main number is Utah -4, so I’m paying up for the extra half point. Utah is 8-0 with the longest active winning streak in the country at 14 games, allowing 15.9 points and 101.4 rushing yards while outscoring opponents 89-6 in first quarters.
BYU is 7-1 and has already moved the ball on an elite defense, putting up 360 yards on Notre Dame without allowing a sack. Running back LJ Martin is questionable, but the Cougars beat Arizona State 27-20 with just 47 rushing yards, showing they can win without leaning on the running game.
Georgia vs Ole Miss Pick: Bulldogs -3.5
- My Pick: Georgia -3.5 (-108 at BetMGM)
Georgia’s game notes have the Bulldogs at 41.0 points and 450.9 yards per game while allowing 14.9 points and 272.6 yards. Only one opponent has cleared 20 points on them through eight games.
Ole Miss scores plenty at 37.1 per game, but the defense gives up 24.0 points, 148.9 rushing yards and 235.0 through the air. Add Georgia’s +6 turnover margin against an even Ole Miss number and laying the hook is the better side.
Miami vs Notre Dame Best Bet: Under 55.5
- My Pick: Miami-Notre Dame Under 55.5, alternate total (-128 at BetMGM)
The main total has come down to 54.5, and I’ll pay the juice to buy the extra point back. Both defenses stuff the run, with Miami allowing 60.8 rushing yards per game and Notre Dame 85.4, which puts the scoring on the quarterbacks.
Both are playing well. Darian Mensah is completing 80.7% for more than 2,400 yards with 25 touchdowns and one interception, and CJ Carr has 1,849 yards and 18 touchdown passes at 67%. Miami is scoring 47.6 per game.
What tips it is Malachi Toney. Miami’s leading receiver is out four to six weeks with an ankle injury after piling up 1,027 yards and 13 touchdown catches, and that is a lot of volume to replace on a week’s notice.
